Will Buxton tweeted around 4am our time about possible garage issues. Hadn't heard this. Did hear yesterday that the tunnels have been flooding and have to have the water pumped out whenever there's heavy rain.

Oh dear. All appears not to be well at COTA. Garages haven't been built to spec and are far too small. Teams meeting Charlie to discuss.

Health and safety won't allow them to work in the garages. Bernie won't allow them to work under tarpaulin. One royal screw up brewing.
- Possible garage issues
- Reported tunnel flooding
- RV pads being rebuilt

Maybe these are why no photos are being allowed any longer inside COTA.

I can't imagine that Tilke engineers would do something like that in the first place, its not like this is their first time building a Formula One grade track. Talk about just stirring up trouble. Id seriously be surprised beyond belief if they didn't build the garages to the size they needed.

Not sure I like the red. Yellow or white for the track lines would look a bit more subtle and still work.

Hmm, they seem to be getting pretty generous with the paint. Hope they have a good artist behind this, otherwise they will quickly cross the line between cool looking and cheesy.

Just got interesting news re: USGP hotels. Apparently Circuit of the Americas' room-blocking contract for ~40K rooms is about to expire or has expired. Might lead to thousands of Austin area hotel rooms being released to the market at much more affordable prices.

Also, Vance just found this...SnoozeBox working a deal for 2012 F1 USGP? I know the perfect spot!

http://www.bloomberg.com/article/201...gqtkd.75s.html

Quote:
"Agreement has been reached in principle with a US entity for the provision of 240 rooms for an events tour starting with the US Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas in mid November 2012 and finishing with the Superbowl contest inFebruary 2013. We are working 'round the clock' to identify and be able to satisfy any additional US regulatory requirements and make the necessary shipping arrangements to ensure that the units arrive in Austin on time and with the necessary operating licenses."
