The station has a knock-out panel facing north to that site (or a future 41st Ave. Line station).
The question is whether that project is big enough to warrant it or whether the City would push funding it as an amenity contribution.

Has this Aria Pacific/Arno Matis project been announced? Looks like it's across the street from Savoy?

https://www.facebook.com/ArnoMatisArchitecture/videos/980520855926785

EDIT: It looks like it's half the block and one of those houses on the far end wants $10 million for their lot.

5079-5161 Ash Street rezoning says it's 6-storey strata, not rental.

As they say, location is everything

However, for sites adjacent to the future 35th Avenue, increased height up to 6 storeys for strata and up to 8 storeys for rental will be considered to facilitate road dedication.
as per pg 58.

That makes sense, thanks for digging that out. The dedication for the continuation of W35th allows them to have a taller building.

Heather Lands Referral / Fairmount Building Demolition

After years of consultation, city staff are recommending Vancouver city council approve the demolition of the Class A heritage Fairmont Building that served as the RCMP E division's HQ. Not even the Park Board wanted to take on its legacy, or a ~$47 million moving bill.

Aside from this, the referral to a public hearing for the Heather Lands will be debated next week. Expect the public hearing to be scheduled for the middle of May.

For those interested, here's the referral report.

I've been inside the Fairmont building. It's a nice design outside but pretty much crap inside. No point spending much money to do anything with it. It has some bad history too. Tearing it down is the right call.

Omg Referrals are taking so long this year! So happy to this this finally on the docket. Seeing Dogwood up and running is promising to see what'll happen here.

Any news on the old transit depot?

No. It’s the history attached to it. And yes we can technically build something just like it but it’ll never happen.

Sure, it's old. That's it. Nothing in its hundred years of existence really stands out and makes it worth keeping.

Not necessarily. We've got 459 West 63rd on the Corridor just a five-minute drive away.

It was a residential school!! That is definitely something that should stand out and be remembered and worth keeping

That aside, It’s just a waste to demolish something that is still functional

Regarding 459 west 63. You can still tell it’s new
