Vancouver has 3 murders after a man died during an assault at a home in the Sunset area of the city's south:

Man dies after being found injured in South Vancouver home

Portland had a fatal police-involved shooting, but it appears to be an armed robbery suspect shot by police officers. If it is ruled justified, it would count as a homicide, but not a murder.

Looking through this thread, it's obvious we're in for another year of elevated murder rates...beginning to think this is the start of a trend back to higher murder rates.

SF is at 8 after a man was shot dead while driving in the Tenderloin.

Oakland is at 7 after a stabbing victim from last week died, and another man was shot and killed in east Oakland this morning.

San Jose is still at 4.

Well when there's ALOT more Murders in the US than the Uk, what do u expect right? It's easy to gather stat's when they are always readily available or happening in real time.

Portland has still not yet recorded a murder in 2017 (although there has been 1 homicide related to an officer involved shooting in which the suspect, a teenager, was waving a fake gun). Tigard, a suburb south of Portland, has 1 murder after a murder-suicide involving a couple involved in an embezzlement scheme. Vancouver, WA also recorded another homicide after a body was discovered inside of a home during a SWAT standoff.

Portland-0
Vancouver-3
Gresham-1
Tigard-1

Portland had a fatal shooting (the second this year), but the shooter has not been arrested, and the case may be deemed "justified." Which would mean the year's total would be 2 homicides, but no murders.

Shooting Investigation Underway on SE 82nd Avenue - One Person Deceased

Quote:
The person involved in the shooting is a 47-year-old man who has cooperated with detectives. He has not been arrested and the case will be presented to a Multnomah County Grand Jury once the investigation is complete.

I wish you could also get credit for shootings in San Francisco where victim and perp are both from the East Bay because those seem like a regular occurrence on Saturday nights. But unfortunately, the pc local papers usually don't publish such information very often except when the result is a chase across the Bay Bridge (note--in the linked example, sounds like a turf dispute between Bayview and East Oakland).

70% of the people in SF county jail are SF residents. SF has a long history of rough and marginalized neighborhoods, and sketchy individuals who come from them. But go ahead, whine about the east bay, as if SF is some helpless and blameless victim.

FYI, SF residents murder people and get murdered in Oakland as well. And car chases often go in the opposite direction too, from Oakland to the city. Besides, your very own example is about a feud between people from Oakland and SF. So why are you using it to denigrate the east bay alone?
