Believe it or not it's true a very large company From a western Canadian province took it over and construction will proceed fairly soon a rumour though but a very solid lead

I don't want to be too speculative or create rumours that at this time I cannot 100% verify for certain, but I have heard that late Summer, July/August of this year are tentative dates for this project to begin.

I certainly hope this will be the case after all the delays that have plagued this proposal for some time.

If I verify it, I will post it as such. Hope for the best.

How soon until people start lining up to get their money back? Has Capital Pointe emailed purchasers anymore information?

I have a realtor as a friend on one of my social networks who recently made a post about Capital Pointe because she's getting asked about it from time to time. Anyway, she stated that YES it is moving ahead and will be built in spite of the delays. More news is apparently coming shortly.

You really really expect people on here to believe this based on word of mouth?

I don't expect anyone to believe anything. Just sayin'. Don't care too much what you believe.

Tight "friends" you have ! This blog sounds like a stock "pump & dump" blog.."News coming soon", "Big announcement coming" ...... too funny. Call Fortress Financial...they will give you the update... )Hint: there isn't one.

See you next year..

New Proposal

Why not keep the name Capital Pointe, but build something similar to the space needle in Seattle, or the Calgary Tower. It'd be perfect for that site.

What a surprise. If they can't even renew their permits on time it's a clear sign they aren't serious about construction. This happens every single time they expire.

Uuugghhh, so frustrating. It's such a great project, and would go a long way to improving downtown. It's too bad the city can't force them to sell the land.

Oh, with this freshly-announced delay, if $5 would get you $10, I'll bet that a lot of investors will want their deposits back. The Open House for this project was in June, 2010!

It's the right project in the right location, run by the wrong people. They need to walk away if they don't want to sell then partner with a reputable developer and take a percentage of the profits with guaranteed minimums.

^Lol. The city should at least be able to seize the lot to sell parking to fund refurbishing Confederation Park or something.

Well let's hope this isn't Regina's Chateau Qu'Appelle version 2.0 or else we're going to end up with another museum at Albert & Vic.

The debacle continues...... Great project, great location, terrible management. I really would love to see this get going. In the mean time while this project stumbles and bumbles its way around we are digging our foundation and getting ready for piles on Gateway. Worth a look if you are looking for a modern mixed use development. Feel free to message me or use the contact link on the website as I answer all questions there as well.

"“You know what? I’m tired of this. This project is not delayed,” said Nick Circosta, director of stakeholder management with the Ontario-based Fortress Real Developments Inc."
