I don't think he is, I think you're so hard-up to see something be built that you'd give anyone anything they want if you were in charge. This building isn't even likely to go vertical.

This forum continues to get cluttered with nonsense and makes it more difficult to locate factual information on development now that we are actually seeing it. Can the golf, homelessness, disagreement, speculation, mine-is-bigger-than-yours posts be kept to a minimum here and put instead into the Phoenix General Discussion thread instead??

Are you suggesting we remove dialogue from the forum?

I think you have no concept of what a forum is. Nothing I've read lately has been off-topic.

I know it isn't totally new, but has anyone been to Valley Bar? I went this weekend to see the podcast RISK. Loved this place. It is in the ally next to Cornish Pastie. It is an old under ground (Literally) prohibition bar transformed into a fun place with drinks, games, and simple but great food. How did I miss hearing about this?????

Not sure we are allowed to discuss such a thing here without other members becoming agitated.

Yes, Valley Bar is great. They pull in a lot of really interesting music acts, as well. Decent beer menu as well, though not exceptional.

Valley Bar is a good spot! I also enjoy Cornish Pastie. Both the upstairs bar, and the downstairs bar are cool!

Both are 20x better than Angels Trumpet!

Hey! I like Angel's! Although they've stayed pretty stagnant as others around them have emerged as better bars.

I've been going to King's lately on Central and Thomas, the guy seems to have better connections than Angel's or Top's and gets pretty much whatever beer he wants. If there's one keg of something in AZ, he probably has it.

King's? I don't know it. What corner of Central and Thomas?

I like Angel's Trumpet because I like beer. It's good for starting out the evening. Then I'll usually head to Cornish Pastry or Whinning Pig and end the night at Valley Bar.

I quite like Whining Pig. King's is in the same plaza as Panera Bread. I had some Dogfish Head 120 minute there last night. They may still have some left.

The money is in that fund because it's the law. The Downtown Community Fund wasn't set up for pension obligations.

I will never understand why people think a governmental body that has obligations here and assets there can just easily move one to the other without repercussions.

Remind me, what will the building be like? How many floors? Apartments? What's the name of the development?

I am sorry, I don't know the answer to any of those questions. I had the assumption it would be another 5 story wood frame building but the crane makes me think perhaps not.

It's called the Willa and will be 6 floors. One of the better 5/6 floor developments in Downtown IMO.

Downtown Deli had a private event thing today.

The new Mexican/Taco spot in the San Carlos has their private opening event thing Wednesday. Both restaurants should be open as soon as this weekend, or next week.

studioms.com makes me wish I was in the middle of a forest in Central Washington. What a brilliant firm that is. They did proxy 333 and I'm looking forward to more of their projects.
