My doubts about Mosaic continue to grow. The lot has gone from an eyesore to downright seedy. Graffiti is all along the cinder block wall and on several parts of the wrap now, and the chain link fence along both University and Ash has been knocked over for quite a while.
This pic was from 6 weeks ago; the site looked tidy in comparison to how it looks now.
If they are going to break ground before the end of the month, now would be a nice time to maybe open up the trailer, and perhaps start moving some equipment on-site.

Hi a quick intro. I have been lurking here for about 8 months and love this forum. There is a wealth of information as to what is going on in the community regarding exciting new developments.
But now i just wanted to say that i walked right by the Mosaic site today... and there was equipment parked there as well as a tent set up that was not there just a few days ago. i would say that groundbreaking for the Mosaic tower will be very soon.
The Mosaic groundbreaking party is tomorrow night at the Tempe Center for the Arts. I already e-mailed my RSVP but not sure if I am gonna make it yet. I don't know if they are really breaking ground soon or if they are calling this a "ground breaking" party simply to increase interest. Is anyone else planning on attending the event?
Was the ground-breaking party just to spark interest in the project, or was it an actual groundbreaking event? I am certain that I saw a large white tent set up at the site the other day that was not there before, and some front loaders parked there also. I wish I had my camera with me at the time.
Just a little teaser....I was by the Mosaic site again today...I keep seeing some activity there ...nothing major...But it did look like they were doing some type of surveying
Any news on Centerpoint tower 2? What floor are they up to now? Anyone have any recent photos? How is the cladding going on the first tower? I've been gone for a couple months now, so I'm wondering how it's doing.

Tower 2 is only 4 or 5 floors below tower 1. I will count for you tonight - and I will bring my camera with me when I get back from vacation a week from today and take some photos if no one gets to it first.
As I type this, crews are working on the 20th floor of Centerpoint II (assuming I counted accurately!)
Here is a crappy cell photo to tide you over until I return. The cladding on phase is about 75% complete on the other side of this pic. It goes to the top, but has gaps in between.
Tempe rising! This is cool. Tempe will look pretty nice once everything gets going. There are a lot of proposals and a lot of approvals. I thought The Pier at Town Lake was going to start soon. Hopefully.
You know what's exciting? The light rail bridge. I can't wait to see how it lights up.
I really like the Starbucks on the corner of Rural and Playa del Norte, on the east side of Rural just north of the lake by In-n-Out. That is a cool building.

I have a friend that working on a project in between 1st St and Rio Salado, immediately south of the new arts center (beside those new town homes) by one of the home builders. Four towers in the 10-16 story range. No renderings yet. Sorry, that's all I could squeeze out!
So, did anyone attend the Mosaic "opening" last week? I heard folks mention it, but not a peep since.
Anyway, the bulldozer and truck parked on the Mosaic lot are now gone. No dirt has moved, at least none that I can see from the car.
While getting my coffee this morning, I noticed that Mosaic has put up a sales office. It's down the street, in the strip mall with the Starbucks drive-thru and Cafe Lalibela (Hardy and University).
Well, at least it's a banner hanging above the store-front. The space is still empty...

If it Zacher Homes I'm willing to put money on the project not happening. Various reasons for thinking this, but getting the height to make it pencil out will be a big hurdle.
