Boise Parks & Rec does a tremendous job at keeping the
Greenbelt beautiful as well as all of our verdant parks.
Boise ranks as having one of the best city park systems in the nation, the acreage of green space in and near downtown is a model for other cities.
I know, based on research, that your city lacks in a big way when it comes to city park acreage and access. Boise P&C is busy adding even more parks around the city and adding more bike trails in the Foothills above downtown. New paths for joggers, bike commuters, etc are being planned along canals that flow throughout the city. We may not have the best public transportation system around, which hopefully changes in the near future, but we have one of the best cycling communities in the nation as well as the Boise River Greenbelt which is the greenbelt others strive to be like. Our Foothills trails, which begin less than a mile from downtown, are among the best singletrack around for mountain biking, and the network of trails that connect up to the Boise National Forest are second to none.
