I've been meaning to get a pic for the forum of citi and motif, but they are really making an impact on the skyline. The office tower is one floor from T/O and the condo tower still has a few more to go at least.

The office component is looking far taller than I expected it would and should add a lot to the look of Brentwood from highway 1... especially at night. I now have my fingers crossed for that large development at the Nissan dealership to go ahead as planned, although I am somewhat skeptical we will see anything to that scale within the next couple years.

Yah I went for lunch at Milestones with ex-coworkers who work at 1901 Madison across the street, I'm very impressed so far! Though one coworker is complaining that he has lost his view of Mt Baker. Things are really shaping up for the area otherwise! In addition to the Nissan dealership, they should redevelop the old Chevron gas station site, the GM Dealership (here's to hoping they got kicked off the dealer network lol), heck redevelop that entire block of Lougheed! I say by 2020 things will look really exciting along there. The Millennium Line will be very busy @ 3 minute headways by then!

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in here, and it doesn't appear to have it's own thread, but does anyone have information on the tower going up on the east side of Columbia in New West (not the Plaza 88 towers)?

They've designed it to blend in extremely well with the historic buildings in the area, and I'd love to know more about it. Here's a shot by DennisSylvesterHurd on Flickr:

It's called the Interurban - the building below used to be the Interurban depot.

Coquitlam and Port Moody are as ready as ever for Skytrain. It's a shame that Skytrain doesn't come close enough to Newport, but then again it's a 10 minute walk at most from Ioco Station to the heart of Newport.

Yup I'm pretty sure it's going to be a library. There was a sign out front saying that but I think they took it down...

as already mentioned, its a library alright. for the life of me, i do not understand why the city must get rid of the old library. its a nice place and i have many fond memories of that place before Metrotown Library opened up and took half the books... i remember studying in the basement when i was in elementary school and then going to Me & Eds Pizza across the street.

i drove down edmonds last weekend. this corner is looking awesome and a dramatic improvement from what it was before.

however, the rest of edmonds is looking really bad. i would of expected to see some more life considering the new HighGate a few block up. I think it looks worse now than i have ever seen it.

I gather study is a strong word for an elementary student.

i should of used the term "do homework" and "look for books with naughty pics"

it was pre-internet after all
