Does anyone know what'll happen to the remaining part of Highfield Square? Renderings show it still there, but there's nothing in it, so what's it slated for? If it has no use, it could help ease the concern among some members of the public who worry about not having enough parking.

Conversed with the City a couple of days ago. They are working on fixing the problem with the image constantly freezing. They may have to raise the frame rate from 1 FPS to 2 FPS to solve the problem, which would be fine with me. I realize they went to 1 FPS for security reasons, however 2 FPS is still okay in that regard. They didn't have any idea of a timeline for the fix.

I am also wondering what is happening with that old building just to the west of the events centre. It looks to have been in the process of being torn down but it appears there is just steel remaining. I don't believe the City owns this, but that and the adjacent building remain an eyesore.

Perhaps some entrepreneur will open the wallet and build one or two parkades in the empty land? I hope the parking situation is addressed.

Quoting myself as to what will happen to the remaining buildings on site.

The other one was the old Sobeys, and I believe Crombie owns it. Unsure if their plans.

Not sure who you were talking to, but they didn't mention it.
I've increased it to 2 FPS, but the issues were less with the camera and more with the wireless bridge that is the backhaul that had issues yesterday.

Any idea when it will be back up and running. Lots of action taking place on site now.

Thank you. I needed to refresh the webcam page (F5 helps)

Lot's going on at the Events Centre construction site:

This picture was taken this evening:

This is the same perspective from last week:

This image is from today, looking down Main Street towards Terminal Plaza. You can begin to see what sort of impact this building will have on the streetscape.

It already looks huge from Main street.

I feel like saying fantastic work to everyone who was involved in making this project a reality in spite of a lot of naysayers. This may very well be transformative for the city.

Interesting read; thanks.

Structural steel installation continues. They are now working on the side facing the old Highfield Square parking lot. At this point, there are six stories of steel being installed. This is going to be a massive building, especially when you consider the footprint.........
