I may be in the minority, but I'm really digging the design of the Annunciation building. Not sure if this is a replacement of the Tracage though since that is also showing up on the website. If it is the new Tracage, it's a major alteration of the design, and I don't think that would happen without an architectural review occurring.

The Annunciation was the building that was most recently approved several years ago. The original tracage is long gone. we just kept referring to it as Tracage.

This does appear to be a slightly updated rendering of the building compared to the previous one. And I do prefer the newer design even though it's not too much of a change.

Older rendering:

I'm disgusted by the Holiday Inn Express....that's poor taste. I'd bet the lights go to solid blue like the other HIE locations. That sucks!

I believe this is on S. Jefferson Davis, near Tulane Avenue. The taller buildings in the rendering face Tulane.

What is this YMCA replacing? At Tulane & Jeff Davis, it's a pretty crowded area....did they tear something down?

The back of the lot, not fronting Tulane, is currently empty.

The new Tracage is better. It still looks like something from Seattle in the 90s, though.

Too bad they can't build a parking structure under the bridge and then actually build a decent building that doesn't have a giant blank podium.

Regarding the Holiday Inn Express, not every new hotel in the city can be a high-end boutique targeting millennial jetsetters or whatever BS they market it as. Won't be the worst thing, in my opinion, to have a hotel downtown that's actually affordable. God forbid our tourists aren't super wealthy...

Im not really saying the hotel needs to be a millenial geared hotel or very expensive. i just hate to see something so generic that has no street level amenities to help create activity.

I just saw the renderings. No clue what the status is of it.

Yeah I'm fine with budget hotels in the Warehouse District, I just don't want one right at Lee Circle. Not many cities have a roundabout like that, it's really the focal point of the whole neighborhood (along with Lafayette Square).

Once Holiday Inn Express goes in, there will be no street-level activity anywhere on the circle except for Circle Bar and the god-awful Exxon. The GNO Foundation is nice architecturally, but has no retail either and the ground floor is elevated.

I like the new design, and I love it in comparison to the old one. They've added a living wall to the parking garage base, so they're doing something interesting with it at least!
