I guess in my mind I was thinking of all their 6 storeys and up stuff. I think you are right about their 4 storey projects.

I love how even 5468's website is impossible to use just for the sake of being different lol. At least they're consistent

Is it a hidden agenda or could it just be that this is one of the only architecturally interesting projects going up in Winnipeg?

Some inside pics of the St B ER expansion. Pretty boring stuff right now but the finishes are starting to come along. It’s going to be very shiny state of the art.

Yep Pyrotenax, aka mineral insulated cable to power emergency and life safety systems.

Outer copper jacket with a layer of powdered fire resistant mineral, in turn surrounding an insulated conductor.

https://www.fortwhyte.org/buffalo-crossing-faq/

Buffalo Crossing is a brand new multi-purpose building and 10-acre site development. The 18,000 square foot, two-storey building will become a new southern gateway to FortWhyte Alive’s property and will allow us to accommodate the tremendous growth in programming we have experienced in recent years. The building will be anchored by a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge across Muir Lake that will allow for a quick convenient connection to FortWhyte Alive’s trail system.

I am very close to Buffalo Crossing, and can see the construction taking place. It is expected to open in the fall.

Very cool! I wonder if there's any way to tie Fort Whyte into the city's active transportation network. Far-flung but it'd be a nice bike ride from downtown to Fort Whyte.

Well there is a bike/walking trail that begins at Buffalo Crossing, and goes right up to Sterling Lyon crossing at Shaftsbury.

At that point, there are bike/walking trails that go north through Assiniboine Park and Forest right up to Wellington Crescent. It's not as practical as a separate bike trail on the side of McGillivary, going to the new BRT, but it is a nice trek.

Ah.

Anyways, here's one for the sequel to their book

(credit where it's due, I like Pumphouse a lot and Hurme's TEDx on walkability was pretty spot-on, especially as a reference for Winnipeg)

It failed because of an utterly terrible design for the reality of the area, as well as bad management.
