Great Halifax shot. Some angles I've never seen before and ya that Island is cool.

Cool shot. Edmonton's skyline has changed so much. With the fog it's hard to even identify the city.

Definitely looks dark blue to me, except against the white shades at the lobby level, where there's a bit of a greenish hue.

I've always seen the Bow as black. It would look out of place in a lot of cities, but fits in well amongst Calgary's other bulky office towers.

I guess it's colour perception, but even your definitive example looks green to me, except for the half cylinder on the left side, which looks blue. Anyways, it looks the same colour (or at least close) as a lot of condo buildings here Vancouver, which was my original point.

Could you be a bigger troll right now?

Your comment went well beyond criticism of the building. Your rationale was that Calgary is unworthy of nice architecture. You also completely neglected Telus Sky across the street. Are you jealous since Torana only seems to get tall boxes?
LOL You could have chosen a higher road but nope. you're just the same.

I was making a point using similar inflammatory language. Clearly Toronto has more than just boxes for proposals and architecture. If we're going to traffic in unfounded stereotypes though then that is fair game. If someone wanted to call out Calgary for being too corporate looking I would accept that. Comparing it to Omaha Nebraska is just ridiculous and totally off base. I might as well compare Vancouver to Coeur D'Alene because they're both situated in the mountains.

Glass usually has a greenish tinge to it, so clear glass can appear green, especially when covering a building.

Calgary is getting a lot of condo buildings with a similar colour and massing as a lot of Vancouver towers, so there's a bit of the Vancouver effect in our skyline. Telus Sky and Vancouver House make that comparison better too.

Love that first pic of Calgary!

Was in BC last week for my annual summer visit. Was only in Van for a single day but go a chance to snap these skyline pics.

It's fine to say certain cities look like shit. It's an inevitable outcome of having strong aesthetic opinions about urban types and spectacles; this is how we ended up here.

I like the Calgary skyline, though, and particularly when it's framed by natural elements. The real problem with the Alberta cities is their disastrous residential vernacular.

Calgary with the neighbourhoods of Halifax would be something else.
