Could you guys give me your top 2 or 3 top breakfast joints and 2 or 3 top lunch spots in Downtown Phoenix, please?

I haven't been able to keep up with things over the last year.

I'll give you one that I've been to and one that I have been meaning to try.

Morning Squeeze - I like the Green Chili Pork Skillet. They have a few different twists on some breakfast items like this, rather than the same ole.

Larder + Delta - sounds great for brunch, but I've only been for dinner.

Here's a few other options: https://dtphx.org/2022/01/26/7-amazi...ntown-phoenix/

Are we supporting people who commit fraud?

Vovomeena is also a great breakfast spot in addition to the ones others have mentioned.

Sure if the food is great...why not?

Ditto on Vovomeena...their Chorizo Benedict is amazing. It's more like a sope...IYKYK.

If I know that someone is dishonest and treats others poorly then I won't be giving them my money. You may consider it being on a high horse but I consider it common decency to not support evil people.

Glad you agree about Vovomeena and I haven't had the chorizo benedict, will be trying it next time. Thanks for the tip.

Good point. That's the same logic I use to not support Mat Englehorn and Angels Trumpet...he's evil for downtown!

Try it...I think you'll enjoy it. I remember you saying you were going to try the chilaquiles at Centrico after my recommendation. Did you ever get an opportunity?

Plus, innocent until proven guilty I always say. In the meantime, locals do work there and are trying to support themselves in a very harsh economy right now.

So, although I have yet to try Breakfast Bitch, I do support the workers there and I will get around to trying it out someday.

Read the article, she's been convicted and previously served time for the same type of fraud.

Sorry, I don't hold someone's past against them. Especially after they have served their time for their conviction.

If she is convicted of wrong-doing to open Breakfast Bitch, then I will decide at that time about going or not (which I'm sure will probably shut down if she is convicted). But I won't be the one to cast the first stone.

Yeah, people get accused of everything by everyone these days. Accusations are meaningless today. If they find them guilty in this case then that's another thing.

Having said that, if a place has to try that hard for attention with its name, it's likely because the food doesn't grab the attention. I have not and will not go there for that reason.

Matt's is the exact opposite. Name does't try at all, food speaks for itself.

Food must be good then because this place has been busy as hell on the weekends as long as I can remember...for at least a year. Not sure how it's been recently...we had to go on a weekday just so that we didn't have to wait for hours.

The novelty of it all had to wear off by now and people must go for the food. I digress...but time will tell.

If you haven't been convicted of some sort of crime then you haven't truly lived.

How can a man know himself and his society if he does not push the boundaries of said society?

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Much appreciated. Taking my 90-year-old Ma and my daughter next weekend. Ma hasn't seen downtown in over 40 years, so I want to make sure she has a great experience and a great meal.

Wow! I didn't know that! She got trouble before. Didn't they arrested her before? She was charged with fraud. She have go back to prison again. She will remain in prison for years.

breakfast:
Vovomeena: biscuits & gravy are amazing
Fillmore Coffee: breakfast sandwich may be my fav in town
Matt's Big Breakfast: everything is good; love the Saturday specials

lunch
Carlys: love the SW chicken sandwich
Taco Boys: get a plate of something!
Angel's Trumpet: may have the best burger in downtown
Stickler's is the best quick sandwich place
Harumi is the best sushi
La Madeleine is the best soup/salad spot
The Larry might be the most underrate/unknown - try the bang bang broccoli
CIBO is probably my fav pizza place but POMO is close

I really like this list. Stickler's is underappreciated, we used to do lunch there a few times a month and it was always a hit.

Can't go wrong with this lists. Even though it's technically not downtown, I would add Ollie Vaughans as my favorite because I love their back patio, and their fried cinnamon rolls are stupid delicious (don't get me started on how they also cover them in chocolate and make bread pudding out of them). Save this one for later after you have toured downtown if you haven't been.

We need more Brazilian steakhouses here in the Valley.

A Texas de Brazil should be good and another Fogo De Chao
