Yeah, I can't see anyone recladding the MTS building. I guess anything's possible, but it doesn't need it. It could use a good cleaning, as it looks pretty dull/dirty.

I agree. It almost makes it look like a new development. Once the new apartment tower goes up next to it, the whole area will look so much better.

I'm excited to see what the RBC building looks like at ground level when it's done its reno too. They've done great work on that building, love the lighting.

1982-84 were good years for me, anyways.

^ It's clad with some sort of stone panels. You can see them up close if you walk by the Main Street entrance.

For what it's worth, 333 Main is one of my favourite office towers anywhere. I love the way it compliments its neighbour, the Bank of Montreal (333 Main was originally built as a BMO office building). I love the sleek profile too.

Leave the old BMO building alone. I think she looks great, maybe needs a cleaning.

360 Main looks great. The black mullion caps turned out pretty good. Not my fav up close, but looks quite nice from a distance.

They look odd, as if the supplier ran out of the blue ones, and the black was all they had left LOL.

I like the black caps... Regardless, sexy building, strong improvement.

I too love the MTS tower, but can't wrap my head around the lack of windows... who designs that??? Nonetheless that little MTS step-child beside it could use a dust-up.

When designed and built it was thought that the little stubby beside it would be replaced with a taller neighbour. Hence the lack of windows on that side.

Really? That stubby was probably not even a decade old when the Bank of Montreal Tower was built... surely they couldn't have been expecting it to get demolished and replaced so soon.

^ I always figured that blank wall was where the elevators and stairwells were along. It's kind of an odd floor plate.

That is correct. Elevators, stairs and bathrooms.

ARTIS logo going back up. Can't wait to watch 300 Main and SkyCity rise from the skyline.

^ The logo would have looked 1000x better on the short sides of the building instead.

I wonder if they've assessed the best view points. Cause travelling south on Main St, it's much better on the long sides. I noticed this the other day. Provides a nice view of the logo. If it were on the short sides, it would be hard to see. Maybe that's why they went that route originally? I don't know.

^ I remember seeing an original rendering of the tower some years ago which showed the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange logo on the short sides, and I thought it looked damn good.

As an aside, anyone else remember when the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange was still a thing? When I was a kid I used to love going downtown to the library to study or whatever, and I got a kick out of dropping by the trading floor viewing gallery around the closing bell when the traders were jumping around and shouting orders like madmen while the ticker numbers flashed. You can see the gallery behind glass to the upper left:

I presume that trading floor must have been in the windowless lower part of the tower... I wonder what's there now?
