While they are Asians, the majority of them are raised here. Brentwood doesnt really appeal to Mainland Chinese buyers so much.

It's lacking a T&T Supermarket first of all, and secondly Burnaby public schools aren't highly regarded. Burnaby is also lacking high-quality private schools.

If any of you attended the showing of the 3rd tower this weekend, you can put your doubts about a lack of Chinese buyer in Brentwood to rest.

3-1 ratio of Mandarin vs English speaking agents present this weekend. Visually 80% Asian buyers.

Crazy busy.

Nice layouts - but too small.
Still tiny appliances.
Higher prices.

Tower looks amazing, very slight change to it from the previous rectangles, but very appealing.

Overall it seems like a very successful first sales weekend, I have little doubt the tower will go ahead as planned.

Yep, the assertion that any part of Burnaby is unappealing to immigrant Chinese is pretty hilarious to those of us who lived in Burnaby 25+ years ago.

There is no problem comparing the two cities (three cities) but what's the point when each city is different in it's own unique ways. I'm essentially saying economically and topographically among many other factors that each city is different. So your comparison is a fallacy.
Maybe the more effective word to use here is contrast rather than compare!

As a native Vancouverite, I know one thing ... the more of them that there are, the better the food will be.

This project, when built out, will be rather on the scale of the downtown Edmonton mega complex. ... Except that this is only the suburbs!!

Someone told me we're not allowed to compare the scale of this project to projects anywhere else.

Great to see another crane go up. If this site would be in Berlin, there would be 10 cranes working on that site. They sure love putting a lot of cranes even on small sites.

This is probably the most cranes we have had on one site in Metro Van?

Can anyone think of a bigger buildout? 5+ cranes?

Hahaha... yeah, an absolutely massive site. Great to see, although I do miss my quiet old Brents for coffee and lunchtime strolls to the pet store.

The Olympic Village had 12 tower cranes, which was a new record for the city and required the use of an automated collision-avoidance system to avoid crane collisions and loads being garroted loose in an accident.

Duh! Right you are, I remember the craziness down there.

Runner up then, I imagine.

Just to expand on this, a recent example includes a similar size lot where a new shipping center was constructed. They used 11 cranes on that small site!

abload.de

We never see such in here and when Olympic Village was built, it was a much larger site. Must have been a nice sight even then, I am sure.
