People have been saying this is now worse than 1994. Just as I predicted.
I wonder how far this'll continue; 1994 continued on into the morning.

Really would have thought that they would have had a ton of police on standby downtown. They knew that the crowd would be 100,000 or more and that this was a very real possibility. Good thing that this is an unorganized mob and not a organized protest.

This rioting is shameful for Canada, and it is shameful for all Canucks fans. What kind of neanderthal people do this kind of thing? I wouldn't be sorry to see all hockey completely eliminated from Vancouver forever.

I've got a great idea. Why don't we send Luongo down there to calm down the crowds.

Why are those reinforcements just arriving now? Did the City honestly not see this coming? Everyone I know predicted it.

This. With the way the city has changed today to be more pedestrian-oriented in nature, there's no way it wouldn't happen, with the large amount of people in downtown at one time. So far, our predictions have been right.
New footage on CTV stream of the fire in front of the bay/granville station. That's going to be a big hit to any of my commutes into downtown, it's all over the entrance to granville...

Possibly the parkade underneath the theatre according to the news. How many families are in the Queen E to see Wicked tonight?

Ken Hardie states that SeaBus travel is outbound only, not inbound.
Granville St Skytrain entrance is in flames.... not good for travel in this city

That is just a idiotic statement. The biggest cause of this was the huge crowd downtown. This would happen in any large North American city with 100,000 people in the downtown that have all had a major disappointment. The real solution is not to host 5% of the metro in the downtown and not be prepared to deal with the problems that could arise right away.

I just watched a mindless fool try to jump over a flaming car but instead fell inside the car (probably through the sunroof) right into the flaming inferno. He got out after a few seconds. I can't imagine he didn't burned. Mindblowing.

The Bay is pretty close to going up in flames. No police in sight.
