So when the piles have been driven, what will come next??

What kind of time frame, and will they wait until they have the DB financing to go forward?

No pile driving yesterday(sat.) but they were moving dirt again on the north side......actually looked like this was covering some piles on tower 1(the incomplete pile tower footprint on the NW corner).......
Dozer and backhoe........and a dumptruck....

Maybe they are smoothing it all out again in order to build a 3 story headquarters for Dan Visnich

As I sit here in my office five block from The Towers site I can hear the pile drivers
working away like they have been for the last four months or so. By the end of 2009
Capitol Mall will have five new towers, "mark my words" as the saying goes.
It's amazing how a few people on this thread can make it appear like the
sky is falling

Yeah, Sac is just like that huge metropolis of Fresno.

Get a life, dude.

When would Saca be required to pay off his loan from Deutsche Bank? What is typical?

A quick google showed construction loans for such a project would be for 2-3 years. Does this sound right?

You can't be serious...

If you talk about stricky city limits Fresno is bigger than a lot of cities... Oakland, Minneapolis, Miami, St. Louis, Pittsburgh....

...in which all of these cities are much more urban and bigger than Fresno...

..SO WHATS YOUR POINT? City limit population means next to nothing.

They are just moving equipment around, expect piling to be covered as they do so.

You guys just like stirring it don't you If any of you
can take 10 or 15 minutes to stop and see why they are
covering them, (to have more mobility on the site) it would not
be such a mystery.

Do you think Saca can get a new contractor and get the ground covered before the rain starts?

if you look at innov8's pics of 621, or the progress of 301 mission in sf, the piles were covered by dirt before rebar and concrete were poured, seems like standard practice.

Chalk it up to a lack of maturity.. There are a couple of new Sac forumers (who as evidenced by their posts) sound as if they're a bunch of kids, who have probably never written a check for a mortgage or rent; let alone comprehend the magnitutde of such projects. Even the best city planners can't predict when construction will start on a given project. In the case of the towers, the negativity directed at this project (which is still under construction) just makes the people predicting it's demise look silly..

Agreed.
I don't think Calpers would invest $100 Million into a project that will not be built. The city wouldn't give an $11 Million subsidy for it if there was doubt.
