Maybe the bridge will have a connection to the parking deck?

Yeah, but residents wanting to go to the bridge shouldn't have to go through the parking deck to get to it. It makes way more sense for the building to be connected to the bridge.

Exactly...I was just think that maybe there will be a connection to the deck and it will continue on, possibly with a connection to the front of the building. Either way it will be nice for the residents to have a convenient connection no matter where it is.

The Marta Bridge sits next to the Parking Deck. Marta owns the strip of land out to Stratford. There will be a bridge connector to the Maggianos parking lot to allow overflow to drive into the deck. Maggianos overflow parking was originally in the parking lot where the building is being built.

Didn't someone say that 811 peachtree was supposed to break ground this month, or did I just make that up?

I think they were just removing an old gas tank on the site. That got everyone's hopes up, but they haven't moved forward on construction, as far as I know.

Yeah, I don't think they have either. 811 is by FAR my absolute favorite of all the Midtown proposals, and I have my fingers crossed and my Voodoo Doll out (in a good way) on this one.

Great pics...the Train Station looks awesome. Cyan, and Buckhead Atlanta, are shaping up nicely.

Two Overton Park

"Amid this demand, Diamond says, major commercial landlord Hines will likely add another office building to its 34-acre, 1.5 million-square-feet Overton mixed-use project at the southeast corner of I-75 and I-285. The project already includes One Overton Park, a 387,000-sqare-feet office building completed in 2002."

I'm not sure if you all have talked about two overton park too much, considering that it's an otp project, but is this going to be built? Because it's a large project that I've heard and read almost nothing about. Apparently it's 14 stories of office and 3 stories of parking.

New Phipps renovation renders

A sketch of Phipps Plaza obtained [ by local website Tomorrow's News Today] seems to show a dramatic remodel and enhancement to the Peachtree Road facing side of the mall ( that is) reminiscent of the colorful signage at The Shops At Crystals at Aria Las Vegas, the rendering of Phipps Plaza shows branding for existing retailers Jeffrey and Valentino. As shown in the rendering, it would seem as though the mall entrance between Yebo and Twist will be become the mall's "grand" entrance. The rendering also seems to reflect increased mall branding and area landscaping.
The entire Phipps renovation program , including the AC Marriot hotel and the #14 unit Domain Apartments , are shown in the second render.

The tower lighting in the Phipps Plaza renovation seems to be similar to the design as they are using on the Buckhead/Lenox Gateway project.

http://atlanta.curbed.com/archives/2014/...square-south-proposal-is-still-alive.php

Times Square South developers still hopeful, it seems. I would love this to happen, and right next to the proposed hotel/residential tower in the thin slice of the lot to the north. What an incredible, walkable little corner of downtown this has become/will be.

TOO MUCH GREAT NEWS IN ATLANTA AND IT STARTING TO GET CONFUSING!!!

OTHER NEWS:

I love the way how phipps is going to be and I like how it will have competition for lennox and hopefully die down crowds there.

TIME SQUARE SOUTH: I like the time square south idea especially that it is right there in the tourist destination and will bring more vibe to downtown. However, I wish they could've brought other buildings surrounding it to do the same thing so it could be a glowing area and make it as a 24 hour destination for the city.

Im so excited with all the lighting around here thats getting ready to come to Atlanta and the ones that are already here in Atlanta .....

But we got:

Buckhead bridge
Atlanta connector project
Time Square South AKA 285 Marietta
COREY TOWER (not really, not appealing that I thought it will be)
Skyview Atlanta (FERRIS WHEEL)
Centennial Olympic Rings
ETC.

Buckhead Atlanta phase 2?

According to real estate site, BisNow , OliverMcMillan has filed permits with the City of Atlanta to begin site work on what its terming as Phase 2 of Buckhead, Atlanta. In this case, the developer is aiming to build a 14k SF shell building targeted toward retail. OliverMcMillan's spokesperson Rachel Tobin says the developer does not have a construction start date nor a tenant set, but is simply cleaning up the site prior to the mixed-use project's September opening.

I was wondering the same thing - did anyone attend the meeting yesterday and get any additional information on proposed projects?

I did not get to go as I had to work late, but here's an overview from the DRC Recap:

Quote:
The Midtown Development Review Committee (DRC) met on August 12th to follow up on the proposed 1010 West Peachtree project and to review a new mixed-use project at 1330 West Peachtree Street.

1330 West Peachtree Street: Urban Realty Partners is seeking to convert the Arthritis Foundation’s five-story office building into a mixed-use restaurant/retail and apartment building. The architecture firm PRAXIS3 is leading the design team and they presented a concept that includes 98 apartment units and approximately 5,000 SF of street-level retail/restaurant space on West Peachtree Street. The DRC recommended approval for the project given that no variations from the zoning code were requested.

1010 West Peachtree Street: The Hanover Company returned to the DRC with updates to their 6-story mixed-use project known as Hanover Midtown. The proposal includes approximately 328 residential units and 14,600 SF of retail fronting on 10th Street. The DRC recommended approval and was particularly supportive of the retail component, which is well integrated into the project and located on an emerging retail corridor anchored by Georgia Tech on the west and Piedmont Park to the east.

It seems to me that maybe the one at 3rd and Peachtree was not presented. I can't be sure though.
