“We consider Philadelphia our first investor," co-founder Ilishayev said. "We would not have been able to scale our business as quickly and deliver the moments that matter most to our customers had it not been for the support of the city and the state."

I was told this is a terrible place to start and run a business.

At 3rd&Spring Garden, no less.

Must be the Finigan's Wake lot.

Awesome news and nice infill for the area, especially with Yards, Target, and the new Philadelphia archives one block further west.

Close to transit as well. Time for that center bike lane on Spring Garden between Delaware and Broad.

Good for these Drexel boys. Hope to see more graduates stick around and implement their business plans here!

I think we're just getting started. We're a little behind in the startup game...but there are some very promising startups in Philly that have huge potential, especially in the biopharma world. It's only going to get better with Comcast's startup incubation program - which I think will really take off with the completion of CTC. Philly's growth is very organic, we haven't had a major influx of investment in one particular area, but we have been slowly building ourselves and as a result have some great diversity in industry. That same diversity is what helped keep the region from getting completely destroyed in the recession.

Agreed. I think we're off to the races.

Amazon consolation prize, lol. But really, good on these guys. They have an interesting business and it will probably grow stronger as more states relax laws on marijuana.

The black band around the top of 2400 Market is likely not a screen. I can see them putting the Aramark logo up right now.

Thank god. I would hate to see that outdated logo illuminated on the Schuykill at night. Not to say I don't like seeing logos and buildings lit up at night as the FMC sign looks quite nice at 700 ft up.

Most of the telephone poles in Philly are outside of the CBD. The only ones I can think of that are anywhere remotely near Center City are around like 17th and Vine.

I think he means power lines, which there is a forest of and frankly make Philly look like a third world country.

We don't have those in Center City either. All utilities are underground.

Sounds like there's positive feedback about redesigning the eastern end of Washington Ave approaching the Delaware.

University City eclipsed 80,000 jobs for the first time in 2018—adding 5,000 jobs in just 3 years—and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Every day, we’re thankful for the people and organizations who continue to invest in our community’s success. Let’s make 2019 the best one yet!

Exactly. That’s my point. It’s a global economy competing with Munich, etc. not just Baltimore. Let’s raise the city standard for beauty and livability.
