I love the density, but ugh, Altar and Grid condos really ruin the east end skyline view.

Impressive set of Calgary shots that simply cannot be posted with a straight face, I am sure Chad knew they were going to cause a mini commotion. The first one is impressive but so it the third one.

Lol I wasn't trying to stir anything up. I post beautiful skyline photos of Calgary on every single page here, and of many other cities on the other skyline thread. I've had these ones in my files for ages.

It's just my own way to say they are impressive, I didn't imply anything. Calgary looks much bigger than it really is on the third one.

Oh definitely. Our skyline is bigger/more impressive than most American metros under 4 million. The only one that can easily be argued is better is Seattle, from that list at least, though they just passed 4 million this year. Even our residential skyscraper stock outshines most American cities. We are quite lucky to have what we've built.

Calgary's skyline is very impressive. Love the layering. If I didn't know any better, I would think the metro area had a population of at least 3 million.

I find most American skylines quite subdued for the population. Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas... Phoenix Even Boston. Canadian cities in general have more to offer skyline wise.

Must be shot with a telephoto lens, ya? Or is it really that impressive from that vantage point?

Last year I remember someone posted a photo of Hamilton with TO in the background with the highrises basically appearing to be 3x the actual height.

I would say that is a very representative photo of the view from Edworthy Park.
