Tishman Speye r plans to break ground next month on Three Alliance Center, a 30-story office tower in Buckhead that will be Atlanta’s first speculative office building in almost seven years.
The privately held New York developer has construction financing for the $175 million project. It wants to finish the tower by September 2016.

Inman Quarter, the $46 million mixed-use development formerly known as 280 Elizabeth Street, won't be finished until next year but its residential leasing office, which is expected to begin moving tenants in as early as October, is showing signs of life. Its website prompts potential renters to sign up for the waiting list and the first floorplans and rental rates have been revealed. Although there are 10 floorplans to choose from, all 200 are one- or two-bedroom options; no studios or larger three-bedrooms suitable for families. Rents range from $1,325 to $1,440 on the low end for a 551-square-foot one-bedroom to $2,995 on the high end for a 1,424-square-foot two-bedroom end unit with a 1,060-square-foot balcony on the North Highland side.
That isn't nearly as interesting as the defunct apartment conversion, but at least it's something. If they're serious with the "@" thing, though, that's a bit... 1999.

You like the initial design of OMP, or the design now?
I like them both, but I'm referring to the current design by Mack Scogin Merrill Elam. To me it looks sharp and fresh and is more in keeping with the location.

Both-- Though they are totally different-- The David Chipperfield design with the extension of the High was wonderful-- The new building, while not as ambitious, by Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam, is well designed as well--
This will be a wonderful addition to the Buckhead skyline. It's different than any other building in the area. I'm also thrilled to have an actual start date.

wow, that is really amazing. it has this style about it, there was this style in the late 70s and early 80s that used growing ivy, cream coloured structures, and open floor plans with a lot of natural light. i don't know the name of the style, but this is definitely reminiscent of that, with a modern twist. the only caveat is that i would like to see more going on the south side of the building; it pretty much leaves a blank wall. perhaps a garden area or a pocket park?
