Anyone know what’s going on with the old Telegram building on Columbus Drive (across from the Village Mall)? Seems to be lots of activity happening there lately this past month.

I didn't realize, or had forgotten, that the Telegram wasn't operating out of that building. Seems like an ideal place for an apartment building - bus routes, grocery store, mall

The Flats At Dunrobin

This development consists of two very small apartment buildings located on the corner of Mount Carson Avenue and Dunrobin Street in Mount Pearl. On April 25, deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, along with representatives form every level of government showed up for the media complete with shiny new shovels, and a mound of dirt carefully placed for photo opps to tell everyone how affordable homes will be built.

The fine print...... It took 3 years of deferrals and red tape to get it started. It will take 18 months to complete the two building containing just 12 units each. And last but not least, each 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom unit will rent for $1,800.00 per month.

A new community centre has been approved by the City of Mt. Pearl. It replaces the old centre on Park Place.

Noooooo !!! What a waste of that space !! I have no issue with WHAT is planned but NOT there. That land could be better repurposed for housing.

Agree!

One of the better views in the city too.
