Running this morning I saw this and was humorously intrigued. I was like WTH are they doing. People were lining up to have their picture taken in front of the peach on Andrew Young. So this is now a "landmark" of interest?

It's better than what was there before, which was nothing.

Why are you guys assuming that I somehow don't like it? There is nothing in my post to indicate that. I think it looks attractive and a nice addition. As someone who runs by it often I was just surprised to see people lining up to take a pic in front of it since it is new and just a (lovely) piece of artwork but not something historically significant like the Olympic Rings.

Yeah, it was horrible yesterday. One of the worst days I've seen in Atlanta.

Crazy rainbow. And I just love New City's O4W development. I hope whatever tower goes on the other side of the apt building is 5+ stories taller. It would break up the plateau very nicely and draw the eyes up.

Next week is going to be absolute bananas in downtown.
My prediction is total gridlock for the urban core surrounding downtown and midtown.

Reason: City, County, and State court houses, and city-related buildings are all sandwiched in between Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd,
and Mitchell Street for 4 blocks, all of which will be closed to through traffic. The protestors are going to swarm this area. ARE WE READY?

Get the picture???

This morning in the rain.

Also ran past an unfortunate accident right by the courthouse. I ran past before taking pic since I didn't think appropriate up close. A pedestrian was struck by a car (likely hit and run). Was bleeding profusely but was conscious.

PSA: Everyone when driving look out for VRU's. For some reason when driving a car people look down on us as if we were roaches impeding their entitled right to save 1 second on a drive. VRU's are people too.

If this whole dumpster fire of a situation finally gets put out maybe we can finally focus on the actual issues that need to be addressed. I used to be a political junkie and I don't even pay attention anymore. It's like watching Jerry Springer.

Please excuse my ignorance, I tried to google to no avail. What’s a VRU?

Edit: just found it.

“Vulnerable Road Users”.
