The storage yard will be located near 128th Avenue S.E., just north of Shepard Station which will mark the southernmost end of the LRT line's first stage, and will be big enough to store and service 99 vehicles.

Right now, the city is looking to purchase between 40 and 45 vehicles for the Green Line.
If that's for 30m LRVs, it doesn't provide much confidence in expected ridership.

Well this is gonna be fun...

It's like a yo mamma joke- The barn so big that the feds hafta check it out
jk jk

Anyways, considering the length of the finished Green Line, it will be necessary to have a large enough space to store the cars. However, the ridership of the first phase doesn't seem to be enough to sustain such a large facility. Couldn't they just start small and then expand after the rest opened...?

But if they couldn't show the immediate need for 70 acres of land, more people might start to question the decision of going SE first...

Still building the ghetto bus bays as well compared to what they get in other cities. Does anyone in administration actually ride public transit to know that it is cold waiting for a bus? Why can't we have proper stations?

If they did that, it would be terribly short sighted. The problem with the City is that they always build for now and never for the future. They know that there is going to be a Phase 2 Green Line, and the space is going to be needed for the cars, so build the entire facility now so it’s all ready to go when Phase 2 opens.

It appears they are to some extent - I believe all the storage tracks in yellow wouldn’t be built right away, but come as the line expanded, similar to Oliver Bowen.

So then you really don't know the shutdown was related to a criminal investigation.

I believe it was due to a suspicious package at Nova Chemical's office. Not that it matters as this was not posted as a PSA, but instead to peddle a narrative of crime downtown.
