15C and a mix of sun and clouds. ANOTHER coolish day. 3 full degrees below normal.

Low of 11C this morning. Milder morning was because of the cloud cover.

The warmspot was Bow Island, AB at 28.2C.

Warmest low yesterday was Point Atkinson, BC at 12.3C.

Another garbage May day, solid 6 degrees below the mean.

11 and overcast going up to 13.

Looks like the warmup finally arrives for the weekend, and after that we look to be around seasonal or a bit above for the end of May, which is nice, but we will still more than likely finish the month below average with such a chilly start.

Up to May 10,

Avg high: 13.8
Avg low : 3.8
Mean : 8.8

Even though we've had a lot of overcast days and drizzle, total rainfall as been low at just 9.4 mm

13C and a mix of sun and clouds. We had a quick shower early in the afternoon. Garbage day after garbage day. It's been more than 6 months now. What the hell is happening with the weather. Grand Prix weekend is in 2 weeks. Absolutely sickening.

Low of 6C this morning.

The warmspot was Estevan, SK at 27.8C.

Warmest low yesterday was Penticton, BC at 14.7C.

Well it looks like wildfire season is now upon us. Whitecourt about 150km NW of Edmonton is on a partial evacuation alert.Temps have been low 20s but windy so the forests are dry.

There have been other fires closer to Edmonton but they were contained.Wet weekend coming up. For a late spring we could use the moisture, But need the heat. All the trees and plants are almost a month behind last year.

50 bucks says that you will get some god heat before May is out and the averages will be essentially seasonal by then end of the month.

It could be worse. Significant rainfall in most of NS today, transitioning to snow in the Cape Breton Highlands and western Newfoundland tonight, persisting in Newfoundland tomorrow. Corner Brook could see 20 cm of snow!!!

21/22/22/26

Sunny and chilly today. 9 going up to 13. The foliage is definitely behind quite a bit now, especially by the lake. Everything should fill out with the warm weather coming up on the weekend, though.

Hopefully this morning was the last of the cold this spring, dropped to a chilly 1.8 this morning. Some locations north and east near London and Sarnia dipped just below zero, a rare May frost.

Aha - perfectly timed for my Thursday night arrival! And it looks like it'll be cloudy with a chance of rain for those days in Victoria. Which is desperately needed as the grass is started to yellow already. So far we've had 0 mm of precip in May and only 11.2 mm in April. Even if we get a some rain it won't be heavy as it never is in May and it's then statistically too late for the summer. Here's a deep dive on precipitation done by a local weather expert (nerd?) - although using long term averages from 2018 I'm sure not much has changed and if anything, at least on the west coast it's warmer and drier.

It is interesting how pronounced the summer dry season is in BC, having the six driest metros for the season, and then for the annual precipitation BC bookends the entire list with Kamloops as the driest and Chilliwack as the wettest.

True and I was surprised how dry Kelowna and Kamloops are year round, I would have guessed they might be around 8-12 in that list, not at the very top.
