Ah okay. Plus I see now there was a lengthy conversation in this forum about it back in April.

What about the building that housed Don's Photo? That appears to be abandoned too.

Anyone know what is going up on the fenced off lot with Rockport signage just off Graham at I believe Hargrave (I was a few deep after Christmas party last night, pardon the vagueness lol). I looked them up they seem to be builders out of Ontario.

A casino is planned at Kapyong whatever it's called. It the SE quadrant of Kenaston and Taylor, where the gas station is going. I would assume it'll be a casino hotel thing.

I thought that that was a project for a taller apartment building that was either on hold or cancelled.

Graham at Smith maybe? IIRC Rockport is doing that 10 storey parkade with cancelled apartment building overtop. Graham at Hargrave is a little congested right now

This was the big ugly proposal for the St. Regis property. Nobody is quite sure how or why a 10 storey parkade will be feasible.

Proposal by Ventura for a project on the lot that encompasses the old Mennonite committee building on Plaza, near Access Fort Garry.

Two towers, 10 and 13 floors with the first 3 floors of each building being parking, starting with the east tower (10) and then demolishing the old Mennonite building once it is vacated to build the west tower (13).

Better than an empty building. Would be cool if they had some 3 bedrooms but this is probably oriented to students anyways. It'll add some nice density down a corridor that's probably going to be heavily densified in the future.

Using the link, I'm seeing a 376 standard units and 94 affordable units, for a total of 470 units (most likely rental apartments given it's by the university). Seems like a pretty good project to me!

Collier is selling the lot, found a brochure on their Realtor.ca listing which has renderings and additional info about the project:

If colliers is selling the lot, there is no development by ventura.

The lot wouldn’t be for sale if there was a planned development underway.

Although I’m sure once that lot is *sold there will be some nice density added to Plaza.

Looks like the ventura proposal is stale. They tried to make a go of it. Didnt work and are selling the land. The site plan from ventura is shown as a potential concept in the colliers brochure.

I would think, imagine, hope in a few years the residential component will go ahead on top, with provisions for the tower. . Snail paced Like Sutton Hotel.

What's the take on the Housing Accelerator thing getting the City $122 million. Ask was $192 million IIRC.

Thread on the Mayors Twitter here:
https://twitter.com/ScottGillingham/status/1737555443197911154

Today, we announced $122 million will be coming to the City of Winnipeg through the federal Housing Accelerator Fund. This will help fund some of the most significant housing reforms in our city's history, and will position us to build the Winnipeg of the future.

I'd like to know why and can the city still do whatever may be required to have a good chance to get the additional $70 mil?
