Although now it's outdated, time for a redo.
Super cool!

I'd love to see one for downtown and Buckhead as well, and maybe even Perimeter.

I'll eventually update that one, and maybe make more if I have time.

In the meantime... I took some pictures.

Centergy North

University House Midtown

Finally getting somewhere on some floor slabs. I imagine the only thing holding this one up is the parking portion.

And, I acquired these basic images of the College Football HOF. Not much to show here, other than we can tell the deck won't be a complete dead space. The northern end has a retail space. (very terrible quality images)

Also I found a different render of 33 Peachtree Place.

http://www.emstructural.com/33-peachtree-place/

I think I like the tower better than the version we've seen. I mean, it couldn't really be worse...

http://www.cityfeet.com/cont/forlease/ln...t-at-33-peachtree-place-atlanta-ga-30309

Idk which one is the actual design.

Long story short: Not worth it.

Security guards are a joke, they abuse what power they have to be like cops. You should have reported him, glad you're ok...

Great photos, all.

Is University House's parking all underground?

It was mentioned a page or two back that equipment is sitting on the Yoo site. Does anyone know if construction there is imminent?

Is construction starting on something? I spotted a really tall crane near where Post Midtown Millennium is planned, but I couldn't tell what it was doing.

EDIT: False alarm. I think it's just there for some HVAC work.

Nah. More like occult darkness. I lived in the Uhaul lofts before they were cool, I know character. I also lived in Viewpoint for five years.

I don't know anything about the Yoo site but I took a walk this morning and swung by the site to take some pictures. It looks like tree removal at this point. They also had a portion of 13th blocked off. I am guessing this is where the crane will eventually sit?

Sidewalk closed, and while difficult to see, temporary plastic barriers are also blocking 13th street.

Quick pic of the heavy machinery in the area.

I've never heard anyone describe O4W as "weird" or talk about the smell of sewage in the area. Sorry but it sounds like a personal problem.

I've been waiting for some article along these lines to come out, as I met Amy at the DRC meeting. Nothing we don't already know, but a good recap regardless.

Midtown poised for unprecedented residential boom

Halfway through 2014, more than 5,700 residential units are proposed in the city’s arts and entertainment district stretching from just south of the bridge over the Downtown Connector to just south of North Avenue, according to the Midtown Alliance. Nearly 800 residential units are currently in construction in Midtown.

In comparison, in 2013, just under 1,000 residential units were delivered, according to the Midtown Alliance.

So aside from the torrential downpour at lunchtime, construction on the Bishop St project is progressing. These large forms on the truck are offloaded by crane and placed into a hole. The piece on the back of the truck (with the lip along the top) is the bottom half, and the piece on the front of the truck is the top half. Seven pairs of these were stacked and laid side-by-side in one row, and they've begun a second row in front of the first row.

After the first couple of pairs had been installed, I thought maybe they were going to be the core for stairs and/or elevators in the parking deck. But there are so many of them now that I doubt that's the case. Anyone familiar with these forms? I can't figure them out.

PCP Food Hall adds 2 more tenants

Alt weekly, Creative Loafing, reports that the massive, mid city redevelopment project, Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall has added 2 more restos. The two new dining options are an as-of-yet unnamed Indian street food concept from Chai Pani, the Asheville eatery that opened a Decatur outpost in March 2013 and Sweet Auburn Curb Market's Rawesome Juicery, which is also planning to open a spinoff, a raw food/juice shop called Juice Box.

Ponce City Market had previously announced its initial round of restaurant tenants that included Dub's Fish Camp from James Beard awardee, chef Anne Quatrano, Linton Hopkins'(also a James Beard awardee) H&F Burger, frozen treats from Honeysuckle Gelato, Korean cuisine from Simply Seoul Kitchen, and Szechuan-inspired eats from Jia - a collaboration between Tasty China and Tasty China II chefs Dahe Yang and Jiguo Jiang. Not yet confirmed are New York-based creperie Bar Suzette and an unnamed wood-fired pizza joint. There are also rumors of a first to market resto to be located on PCM's roof, offering stunning views of the downtown/ Midtown skylines.

If I was to take a guess based on the limited pictures, my guest would be a prefab stormwater detention vault. Eventually you would grade over those and then pave or landscape.

Took these this weekend. About time to post.

315 West Ponce:

Deck is up in the back, apartments fronting West Ponce are up, and you can see on the right the work on the rest of the apartments.

250 Piedmont:

You can see the demo chute, or whatever you call it, on the side of the building.

Thanks Atlanta Mustang! So much going on in the city right now. A few more updates:

-The former Melia Hotel is already operating as a Crowne Plaza. They have a temporary Crown Plaza sign out front.
-Lots of sidewalk improvements going on in Midtown. They fixed the really sloped sidewalk in front of the Hyatt on 10th street, and put in some plants.
-I heard Midtown Alliance is applying for funding for the proposed MARTA station aesthetic improvements.

The 131 Ponce property looks like its made up of designs/pieces left over from several other projects....let's try this here...oh, we have room for this over there...how 'bout we stick this thing over yonder. It's too bad the I.M. Pei building couldn't have been left alone instead of getting mixed up with this mess.

I agree. As much as I'm pleased to see that they reused parts of the Gulf Oil Building vis a vis the "facadectomy," the remainder of the project is hideous. Some architects have zero talent.
