A Commercial Building Permit has been filed for the site currently occupied by The Carlton building on South Temple.

If all of you remember,
The Carlton, alongside the affordable housing building 'The Annex', was sold to a Chicago company Riker Capital. This resulted in the eviction of dozens of low income residents back in February and March of this year.
According to the Salt Lake County Assessor's Office, The Carlton was built in 1925, so just under a century old.
I am hoping the existing historic The Carlton isn't being demolished, but the project description doesn't give me much. So far, no demolition permits have been filed and I haven't seen anything filed with Planning on the Citizen Portal so no images of the proposed project.

Just a refresher in case nobody posted here, a Commercial Building permit was filed a month ago for The Annex.

This had given me hope that The Carlton was going to get a similar treatment, since it seemed like the historic structures were being preserved. Now I'm not so sure.
