Is it just me or does that seem like a shit ton of money for something like that?

That cornice looks great and that eighty year old pole out front is so very Bob Ross.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cosm, Bedrock and Rock Entertainment Group on Tuesday shared the first look at what the exterior of the new Cosm giant theater will look like just north of Rocket Arena.

The renderings show large glass windows and a video screen facing Rocket Arena on Huron Road, and a lightly colored exterior with a plaza on the other side.

The Today in Ohio podcast crew cheered Thursday for Bibb’s formal petitioning of Congress to bypass years of FAA red tape and allow the closure of what critics call a playground for the wealthy that walls off the public from Cleveland’s great asset, Lake Erie.

“This is for the wealthy. It’s not a public asset,” argued Leila Atassi on the podcast. “It’s time (to) stop subsidizing this airport for millionaires and just reclaim that land for everyone.”

Construction underway at Cleveland’s new sailing center

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Construction is well underway at the Cleveland Metroparks’ new Patrick S. Parker Community Sailing Center, a project that’s transforming the East 55th Street Marina.

“As you can hear behind me, saws are going, iron is being hung,” said Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman, as work continues at the waterfront site.

Zimmerman said glass will be installed within the next two weeks, with a goal to have the building “winter tight” by Dec. 22. He added that the high visibility of the project—seen by an estimated 117,000 drivers each day—is helping to build excitement.

whats next for the wellman-seaver factory site in the middle of cleveland?
the historic 1901 factory built the hulett great lakes ore ship unloaders.
its been abandoned since 1993, but a non-profit took it over last year.

Developers plan $60 million hotel at old mill site in the Flats


Six-story building will be turned into a new hotel. An operating partner to help develop and then manage the hotel is already secured. Tax credit decisions should come before the end of the year.

"The exterior of the Mill building will undergo a comprehensive rehabilitation. Historic brick, wood, and concrete exterior walls will be repaired. Existing openings will largely be retained, with minor modifications, and prepared to receive new windows and doors matching the historic appearance. All roofs will be replaced to match historic conditions, with new rooftop decks to be created on the existing roofs of the main mill."

Floors 2 through 6 will house the hotel. First floor will house the main entrance and hotel lobby. Hotel's restaurant will occupy the remainder of the first floor.

The interior of the two story warehouse will be converted to house commercial tenant spaces including a restaurant and event space on the first floor, and a data center on the second floor.

The project will create 83 new permanent jobs and 377 construction jobs.

really happy about this one —

one of the most locally beloved/iconic
old factory buildings has finally
pulled together redevelopment funding —


Warner & Swasey secures final funding source for drawn-out redevelopment

The final source came from additional funds provided by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), which is covering the nearly $4 million gap that has challenged the project throughout most of the year.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Eighteen groups have expressed interest in redeveloping the soon-to-be-demolished Browns Stadium site, officials announced Friday.

The North Coast Waterfront Development Corporation interviewed only 11 of the 18 groups, asking them what they would do with the property. No names are being revealed at this time, only the types of developments being proposed.

it seems the cuyahoga river is not the only place cle is building and connecting access and parkland to the waterfront --
the same is happening on the east side along lake erie --
work starting in early 2026 --

Lots of great updates about East Side Lakefront projects from the Metroparks in this presentation from 11/20:

-- Mandel Community Trail completion estimated for late summer 2026

-- Parker Sailing Center and Boathouse completion estimated for Memorial Day 2026

-- Gordon Park improvements construction starts March 2026. This includes infrastructure, trails, playground, and more.

-- CHEERS Habitat Loop "shovel-ready" in early 2026. Looking at the renderings, this is a more significant project than I'd thought.

-- Euclid Beach Connector Trail construction starts in early 2026.
