Is there any building where the glass on fins would not look much lighter than rest of the building? It's shame on building with dark glass, like 745 Thurlow.

Thanks for the pics!

******************

The same tint of glass would always look lighter since the roof is not enclosed -
BUT, they should adjust the design for the difference and use a darker tint of glass to account for the higher light transmission.

They should have fritted the top of the fins to hide the window washing track.

Are the "frosted tips" caused by shadows and lighting or are they really lighter in colour?
They don't look lighter on the webcam.

Here's another look from the same angle in today's flat light with the overcast sky.

Thanks for the pics, and welcome!

From VancouverMarket Twitter:

Note the difference in fritt on one segment of the façade (assuming the glass is in place).
EDIT: The frittless panels are also on the west façade.

And from the webcam - big ass steel cantilevered structure being built up top [for the building maintenance unit?]:

Funny how perceptions change.
When they first changed from the original, point-roofed building design to this one, I was a bit disappointed.
Now I'm so glad they did! (just wish it were 5 floors taller, but nothing is perfect!! )

I gotta say, this is one of the most well done office buildings made in Canada in the last few years.

Whats the timeline for demolition of Edward Chapman and start construction of the hotel?

Also will the hotel occupy both the newly proposed part on the E.C. building site and the lower historical podium section of the tower? Different quality level between the 2 sections perhaps?

From the webcam.

That could be big enough for a helicopter landing pad!
Does it look like it interferes with the window washing track?
(When the cross bar is installed it'll probably be raised clear of the track)

Nothing is confirmed but it is highly likely they will be physically linked.

Weird - it does seem to interfere with the track.
