There's more snow in Toronto than KW Region. On my favorite countryside walk I discovered

Glad to see St. John's get pummeled with snow, and I can't wait for Ottawa to get some too. Lots of softies here pretending like it is Toronto lite.

Barrie ON has no snow. All grass. We haven't had over an inch of snow since Dec 20th.

The worst is when the Weather Network jinxes it for you.

The other weak they had a story saying, “No snow for Vancouver this winter?” and of course immediately after that a cold snap appeared in the forecast.

The same thing happened this summer for Ontario. During the June heat wave there a story saying, “A sign of the summer to come?” and of course after that there was barely any 30+ days all of July and August.

They should really stop writing those jinx filled articles.

-6C with a wind chill of -13 and snowing today. Ground covered for the first time in about 3 weeks.

Down to -9C (wind chill of -18) last night when the snow started.

The warmspot was Sartine Island, BC at 6.9C.

Warmest low was Sartine Island, BC at 5.4C.

Winter is back in Canada and it will only get colder.

Calm, dry and chilly with a mix of sun and clouds.
The sky is black as ink tonight. Feels like snow is coming.

Sunday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 5 C, the low was 1 C.

The Vancouver pics have been off the hook lately! And lovely Cobourg shots too, and St. John’s and Quebec City have to be the most photogenic snow cities in Canada. Although Vancouver with the snow capped mountains ain’t half bad either.

Looks like Victoria proper could fall below zero for the first time this winter, maybe snow? Last day of snow here was December 20, 2022.

High today only 6.5 but felt half decent in mixed sunny weather. My pics from an afternoon walk. A plum tree on this street is having a gay old time, yet some of the other trees are still sitting with their dead and dried leaves. I guess the new growth will push them off. A proactive homeowner here has already got the salt down on the sidewalk, smart.

-9C and cloudy in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to -5C this afternoon.

We received no snow at all from the system yesterday affecting southern NS. Next storm will be Wednesday, and we will not escape that one. Forecast is unchanged. It will start off as snow, but finish as rain.

Those are my favorite parts of Victoria, we spend a lot of time around Cook street. Alas I will not be getting there this spring unless a project there requires me.

_20C in Edmonton This morning. Forecast is for -38 by Saturday. dusting of snow again on Saturday so we have about 2-3 cm on the ground now. Have only used a broom to clear it so far. The snow blower sits' ideally in the shed. Still crappy Biking on trials with the lack of snow.

Have 3 projects that get Boiler start up this week. This should be fun. I'll insist we keep temp heat on for a few more weeks.

The very cold temperatures are still on the way, but not yet. Yesterday was cloudy and 2.4, it tried to snow but melted on contact and the low was 0.3. Today is sunny and 4.

It will be 6 degrees tomorrow for the big storm, we are expected to get 25-35 mm of rain. There is another storm on Friday, originally supposed to be snow, but now forecast to be 4 and rainy.

Tomorrow's storm is looking like a rain event for here. TWN is calling for 1-3 cm of snow and 25-35 mm of rain. EC is basically saying rain near Lake Ontario, snow north of it.

December 2023. Very mild across Canada. Interesting note is the difference between Toronto and Ottawa.

CanDec23 by Ian, on Flickr

January will be different. Again, the weathernetwork jinxed BC hard, and a really strong arctic outflow is coming. El Nino my ass this year.

/\ Nice - love the way you arrange them geographically. I’ve been tempted to do a precipitation chart, but for some stations there seems to be a good handful of days throughout the year where they have no data.

Airboy - what line of work are you in?

Ottawa and Montreal had the coldest anomaly in the world in early December. That blue bubble missed Toronto.

-3C with a wind chill of -8 and a mix of sun and clouds. The snow looks pretty.

Low of -7C (wind chill of -12) last night. Some hourly data missing so we all know what this means. New year, same EC.

The warmspot was Solander Island, BC at 9.7C.

Warmest low was Cumshewa Island, BC at 5.7C.

Surrey had a lot of snow this morning, when I drove back in around 6 pm it was snowing hard, nothing on the ground in Coquitlam, on the Surrey side though it was like a winter wonderland so much snow, over the course of the evening the snow turned to rain and when I came back to the Coquitlam side most of ths snow in Surrey was washed away. We are expecting a low of -12 on friday and a high of -2 on thurs through the weekend, with possible snow. It's currently 3C with rain at near midnight.
