They haven't announced. I expect the DRL, Eglinton East, and Watrfront transit.

I thought the Scarborough subway was considered funded already?

I do expect money towards the DRL east as this has been mentioned repeatedly in announcements lately.

The city had about 2G$, with estimates being higher than that, they fell short on funding.

This announcement isn't any new money. It is purely political boosting in election season. Much of the money is already committed to projects.

DRL still has no funding, and Waterfront Toronto still has no funding for their project either, nothing has changed since 24-48 hours ago aside from a press conference.

WTH, stop proposing stuff and making 3D animations and build something already. This proposal looks ridiculous just pick a technology already. It's almost as disconnected an incoherent as Toronto's transit.

That looks pretty good. I personally think this is much better than the disjointed Toronto transit (present and future) that dump everyone on the same overcapacity subway line. If they ever get going on the DRL, that will change things significatly.

As for Québec City, if they actually stick with this plan, I think it will do wonders for the city.

Here are some stats on the Tramway portion;

Tramway
  • 260 passagers

Much more on Québec City's website.

And the plan;

Quebec City is expecting the Feds and Province split the bill 40/60 of the 3 billion dollar cost, with Quebec City's itself only contributing 300 million dollars for other related infrastructure work. Though I'm sure both parties will agree to the 100% funding formula, there is no way Ottawa (different province, but 100% funding applies for certain projects in the GTA) or Gatineau will receive any such courtesy.

And I feel like I've seen this in a few places, but "The Quebec government has set aside $215 million for the city to come up with studies to make the business case for the project." 215 million for studies?

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-city-tramway-announcement-1.4577912

In the meantime, the Province financed a study for Gatineau's west side ($511,000) that took 7 years and it didn't suggest a technology, route or worse yet, didn't even consider the fact that 40% of the population work across the river in Ottawa, let alone integration with Ottawa's system.

https://www.ledroit.com/actualites/gatin...o-final-d800ddec3717813718e7a0b789ac9945

Here are a few renderings of QC's proposal from the first link.

Nice, really interesting intermediate capacity solution with the extended buses.

Quebec provincial government's got Quebec City Trambus and Tram , Montreal Blue Line and Pink Lines plus could they be expected to contribute anything to Via's high-frequency rail north of the St Lawrence? Lots to discuss in Quebec. How would people prioritize these five projects?

Blue line to be expected to get funding in the next weeks. So would be QC city's plan, then I would expect more REM lines for the suburbs then the pink line.

The premier has been discussing about potential REM extensions in the suburbs, so is CDPQi.

They will not fund anything VIA.

Most walkways in the area around a future station look like this

Question to those familiar with Montreal Metro history. The system runs (ran) the MR-63 and MR-73. Did the City not buy new metro cars when they built the blue line? How did they have enough rolling stock if they didn't purchase any for 30-35 years?

They had purchased them in advance knowing the extensions were coming.

They had an issue with the Laval extension with not enough trains and they retrofitted prototype cars for the MR-73.

Why not continue onward? That seems like a waste. I'd love to be able to get to our condo via skytrain.

Ottawa Confederation Line. Trains are currently being tested between Blair, the east terminus to uOttawa, the last station before entering the downtown subway.

No kidding. UBC would be bring huge ridership numbers. Probably be one of the busiest stations.

Same reason we aren't building the full Green Line in Calgary - cost.
