^ Nice. I was able to find something under 320 S Clinton. 23 story hotel - permit pending. Last action was 11/6/2017 approved Planning Review.
"Description: DIRECT DEVELOPER SERVICES FOR FOUNDATION ONLY PERMIT FOR A 23-STORY HOTEL BUILDING ON CAISSON FOUNDATION WITH PARTIAL BASEMENT"
A little more into it showed me this article from 2010 which says it would be called the Chicago Toyoko Inn, which is a Japanese hotel chain that's lower cost (of about $100/night). The plans back then said it would be 615 rooms.

Apparently Fioretti has been trying to block it for awhile, but maybe he's failed now or it won't be the Toyoko. Not bad considering now this is pretty close to OPO. This from just over 4 years ago:

In addition to Chicago, Toyoko is actively pursuing projects in New York City and Atlanta and is still negotiating financing for all three.
The company targets business travelers at hotels close to public transportation in Japan and South Korea who are looking for smaller rooms at lower rates.
Toyoko's Chicago project would provide rooms of 175 to 330 square feet for about $100 a night.

I found out that they're planning the hotel at 1260 rooms in Long Island City in NYC at 50 stories. From looking at pictures online of existing hotels in Japan, it definitely looks no frills and like something you'd find in Lower Manhattan at a low price, like a Holiday Inn or something.
