looked like PGE was paving in the area of its northern terminus for the Embarcadero-Potrero 230 kV Transmission Project, so maybe that will finally get its fence taken down and be open, years and years after sitting partially done?
I'm looking forward to this one (looks good), but will also miss the witty sign

I suppose if it's not the same person doing the composing it's not likely to really be the same (and even the fact that it will be electric and not manually-lettered also takes away from the effect), but the effort to at least keep the idea/memory alive is appreciated.
The so-called "art" on 1066 Market Street. This is the best image that I can get with my zoom lens. Thanks Pedestrian for describing it as a fire escape. I had no clue. Definitely not my cuppa tea.
I think it just happens that angle isn't the most flattering for the building. The flatiron angle from Market and Turk is the highly publicized one for good reason I think.
This angle should be gorgeous when fully finished.
pseudolus - I did not like the building as the drawings showed it, and now that it is built I find it boring. Market Street deserved better than this. Agree with you that it does not have the texture as presented in the drawings.

I'm happy to see almost anything add middle class people and modern architecture of significant scale to the underdevelopment and sleeziness that has been mid-Market for so long.
Amen, Pedestrian. I've been visiting this site for over a decade now. San Fransisco can only gain from this move of diversification to the Tenderloin. ALL SF neighborhoods need this to "mix up" of socio-economic classes.
