To make it even easier (if you want to spend the money) you do what the Soparro Dome does and have a retractable grass field that gets rolled out of the stadium when not in use with turf inside for other events (in their case baseball).
I know they are cheap because when Tim Lieweike talked about the heating system in one of the articles he talked about some roll out system when majority of modern facilities install heating systems under the fields. Green Bay has had a heating system under its field since 1967, I don't think any NFL Stadium in a colder climate does not have this installed and many baseball fields have it installed also. But Tim wants to roll out heat lamps...

Woah woah woah woah. This post is so mis informed. Please research before posting.
1. MLSE is NOT cheap. They've spent over $100 million on a stadium they dont even own.
2. they ALREADY have undersoil heating, draingage and irrigation like Lambeau and MLSE spent millions of dollars installing it
3. the roll out heat lamps are multi million dollar equipment used to speed the grass growing process that the biggest stadiums in europe use.
4. the terraplass covering and purchase artificial turf would be the cheaper alternative compared to the undersoil heating they already have and the heating lamps they are looking to purchase
Id like them to explore the terraplas covering as it may be the better option. TFC doesn't have the argos run on their pitch, and the Argos don't have a grass playing field with turf endzones.
