Bandana Republish is probably my favorite of those fake brands.

Thanks!

Looks like the next tower along Willingdon will be a clone of Tower 3 along Lougheed.

The office tower next to Sears looks interesting (but short)
- harking back to the days of maximizing the number of corner offices (Grosvenor Tower, Scotia Plaza in TO)

AllSaints, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Club Monaco, Free People, kate spade, MAC, Michael Kors, MUJI, Sporting Life, Stuart Weitzman, Urban Outfitters, Zara. Also Earl's, Eataly, JJ Bean, Starbucks, Cineplex, Yyoga.

Obviously they may not even get one of these, but it's fun to speculate anyway.

PS - This makes me think of The Grove, but with towers.
My question is - are thopse names potentially rooted in reality?

The "Sporting Line" one is the most interesting, as high end Toronto sporting goods/clothing store "Sporting Life" is said to be expanding, and the rendering shows it in an anchor location.

"Equin Fitness" would be "Equinox Fitness" - which is already entering the market with a location at Trump Tower.

Ok, first of all, I want to go there right now!

Secondly, I can't help but feel that they wouldn't put all those 'almost' names into an official document if they weren't in actual negotiations with the retailers they are supposed to represent. I love to see the word 'cinema' featured so prominently after all the hints. Surely, it is a done deal as that part of the mall has to be constructed for it (and looks like it is).

Thanks for the pics!

the SE corner where the gas station and car dealerships are really need to go now, but with the gas station being there how many years do they have to let it sit and recover?

They could just excavate the contaminated soil, but disposal would be more expensive.

Is Trattoria pretty much confirmed at Brentwood? Seems a bit odd since they just opened a location near Metrotown

Update: Found a link that confirms this from a quick Google search, a Trattoria is planned to be open by 2017/2018 http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Van...nfidence+from+Glowbal/9307877/story.html

Woah!

Newsflash!
The plans at the updated Brentwood site (with the new renderings) appear to have deleted most of the underground Target retail space
(leaving only 45,000 sq ft) and replaced it with parking (you don't see the former entrance in the above rendering, either).
But the plans are dated January 25, 2015 - before Target's exit.

The Zellers space is also back to being a 2 storey department store with escalators (Sporting Life, or Simons?)

so... no Wal-Mart???

See plans here:

Very true. But when you consider Brentwood is 26 acres and Solo is 6, the Amazing should be massive. if I've heard correctly shape didn't even go for the maximum bonus density that they were entitled to. I guess they had to do something to calm the neighbours who were frightened about 70 storey towers proposed

Are the residents afraid that the towers would topple on top of their heads should an earthquake strike?

They shouldn't be, the car dealerships will still give them the necessary buffer zone!

Trump, Shangri la, in fact all high rises in metro Vancouver will face same fate too. Damn ... should have invested in Langly, Abbotsford instead

It was likely return on investment - construction costs versus condo selling prices, or the capital tied up in keeping units as rental.

It's interesting, because Shape is keeping about half of each tower as rental - this article on Seattle residential projects (that developers are building as rental because they can't sell them at cost-effective prices) may also apply to suburban markets like Brentwood:

I'm pretty sure it's a cost issue as I don't remember there being many neighbours having conniptions about the height when they were doing open houses for the master plan. Traffic planning seems to be a much bigger concern.

The mall is pretty quiet these days due to lack of stores and access. Sears is very quiet and has so much excess space. This will be interesting to see if they stay there.
