Man...that view is going to change so much in the next few years. SW downtown on schedule, but if SE follows through, the skyline is going to be so much more balanced.

More Time-Lapse of Downtown Austin, Texas. This time using a tilt shift lens. Austin has a neat heart beat.

^Make sure you post the photo credit link so that it goes to the website.

That's a beautiful photo. I'd like to see another nighttime view of that with the Colorado Tower lit.

That's neat. I like that. That's cool enough to enlarge and frame.

Austin Photos 02/12/2015

After reading this forum for the past year or so, I finally got to visit Austin, last week. While most of my time was spent attending a conference and visiting with my family, I was able to get a few pictures with my phone. The quality isn't the greatest, and most of you will have seen many of these same shots. Even so, I tried to come up with some slightly different viewing angles, just to make these a little more interesting.

Downtown, from Mount Bonnell:

From Auditorium Shores:

From San Jacinto street:

From Pfluger Bridge:

The Catherine, from South First bridge:

The exploding west end of downtown, from Auditorium Shores:

Northshore, from Cesar Chavez street:

Seaholm, from Cesar Chavez street:

I'm an Austin expatriate, living in Redondo Beach, CA (Los Angeles metro area) and one thing all of you now living in Austin should know is that pictures don't do the skyline justice - it's much more impressive in person. Austin should be proud of what it has and of what it's going to have once all of these buildings have been built.

Great pics, guys. Seaholm and Northshore are doing a lot to fill in the gaps.

This is SO true. Coming home (from Columbia, S.C. and before that San Antonio) was always so shocking, because pictures really do not do the skyline justice.

Columbia's skyline, fwiw, looks much better in photographs because the tallest buildings are on the top of a hill, with shorter buildings stepped down from that on areas with less ground height, making everything look much bigger than it actually is.
