The Holland America cruise ship Maasdam passing underneath the Confederation Bridge between NB and PEI



The navigation span is roughly at the midpoint of the bridge, about 6.5 km from both PEI and NB. It has a height of about 200 ft, while the rest of the bridge is about 120 ft above the waterline.



You can see the hump in the middle on the image above........

The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge connecting Niagara Fall Ontario to Niagara Falls New York.

The rail deck is on top and the car deck below (NEXUS only). Built in 1897 it stands 69 metres over the river below.

A giant image for a truly giant bridge. I drove past it last month and saw it up close for the first time. Truly a monster of a bridge. Worthy of the country`s busiest bridge.
