This looks too good to be true, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Kids getting a Halloween that isn't freezing or soaking would be a nice change.

This feels like the wettest October in many years. I think this will be a true La Nina winter with a lot of snow. Great for the powder hounds!

There's been a lot going on.

Yesterday (Friday) were the double rainbows over Vancouver and this waterspout warning for Vancouver Island South...

BTW, click on the link above to the double rainbows to see what a rainbow looks like from a helicopter. It's not a bow, it's a complete CIRCLE!

Then there was the thunder and lightning today...

A rare thunderstorm rolled into Vancouver Saturday night

Followed by a tornado watch for North and West Vancouver around suppertime...

Tornado watch issued for Metro Vancouver amid “dangerous” weather

"West of the Vancouver International Airport, a waterspout was spotted, according to the alert. It’s was moving towards West Vancouver and the opening of Howe Sound, including Bowen Island."

I don't recall too many tornado warnings around here before, especially in November.

Oh, and then there's the wind storm coming Monday night.

Here are a couple of cropped frame grabs from some videos on Twitter of the waterspout near YVR.

This wasn't some spindly little thing. It was a monster. No wonder about the warnings.

Click on the links to see the videos.

I don't recall putting "pandemic" or "tornado in Vancouver" on my bucket list...

"catastrophic wind storm" was on my Covid BINGO Card. I don't think we've officially designated it yet so it counts.

Edited: Global just said it was confirmed. Dammit.

Related to this, here's an interesting read from the Washington Post:

Boy am I glad we're in the rain shadow up here. The last 24 hours we've only seen 7mm at the house.

Sailboat is also on the beach and it looked like the Coast Guard ships were trying to grab some other looses sailboats floating around.
