That's mostly the impark parking lot. It'll stay through this development. Once the Hub starts phase C or D for sure it'll go the way of the dodo bird.

They are progressing very fast with the excavation. Looks like they are at least 30 feet down already in some areas by the tower section.

Wow ya they have really ramped things up. For a project that was moving like molasses, its a nice surprise to seem them excavate at this rate.

Update from King George Hub

Received an email today from King George Hub with a small update on this project.
Quote:
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Earlier this spring, we began the offsite servicing work and excavation. Today, the site is active with bulldozers and trucks working swiftly to continue bulk excavation and clearing of the area that will form the underground parkade. A notable upcoming milestone will be the installation of the crane for Tower 1 late this summer.

^Sooner than I would have expected for crane installation. That's a big excavation footprint - lots of digging to go.

Says just for Tower 1 though. 2-3 in the fall?

Update from PCI that the next phase will be offered for presale in 2019.

Looks like the next phase will also include the lot immediately beside the Coast Capital HQ.

So if they're planning on the next phase in 2019 does that mean 2020 for breaking ground? I would like to be optimistic and say that's possibly considering how fast the last 2 buildings sold out in. Be nice to finish up that lot too.

Looks like they could use a 5th or even 6th excavator down there.

Curious as to whether the graphic is wrong - and the next phase is actually just the small site next to Coast Capital - not the larger site the arrow is pointing to. The small site was always marked as Phase C, and the larger site Phase D in previous plans. There is an application already underway on the small site - nothing on the larger.

^Possibly PCI has revised its plans for the next phase and going "all in" with just a Phase B which now includes the previous parcel denoted by Phase C and D. If so, good news as the development can happen sooner rather than later (expected completion 2022/2023. See website for a bigger render:

Seems reasonable to finish it all off in 1 final phase. The 2 remaining sites combined look to be about the same size as Phase B.

It could also be that the graphic is geared to the residential market - and that will in fact be the next - residential - phase. The other will be an office tower.

Will they provide another location for daily parking for the king george station passengers ? The current parking lot is always full every week day. The loading and taxi area behind this station is always very busy because most of the Surrey comes here to take skytrain or to pick up/drop off passengers.
