If you look at it right the spire is missing in the rendering of One Atlantic so it's missing some hight the building is well less then 820ft in the rendering you got up, it's more like 775ft maybe so 720ft looks right to me

One Atlantic Center does sit down hill a little bit from 98 14th and 1180 Peachtree, which explains less of a visible height discrepancy. However, I expected it to still be closer to 730-740 than 720 feet. I guess we will see.

Guys, the elevations are annotated on the drawing. Top of parapet is +1615' and let's call ground floor 900' (i cant actually read the numbers at the bottom, so someone can correct this). So you are looking at 715'. Forget about the 1 AC diagram in the background...the numbers shown are what matters. Why are we trying to divine another set of numbers?

There's only one person actually causing this.

The bottom of the basement shows 919' so it's actually shorter. The ground level says "varies" but it is between the 928' and 960' markers (I think), meaning this tower shown is between probably 670'-680'. Keep in mind this isn't the tallest tower shown, but rather the shorter 2. I would assume Curbed has accurate numbers on the tallest. 720' seems accurate.

In other news, this was being discussed on another site, which I won't reveal because I doubt they want the issues that have been happening lately on here and CD, but I find it interesting how they are doing a teaser for YOO on the park here. (even though we've seen renderings?)

1138 Peachtree is also mentioned here.

The deal for the land closed on May 2, said the developers’ attorney, Kathryn Zickert of Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP.

Known as 98 14th Street, the project would include up to 1,300 units, making it the largest high-rise development planned in the city.International firm Arquitectonica, the same architects behind Philips Arena, is designing the 2 million-square-foot project that would include three towers, the tallest soaring more than 700 feet.

An interesting sidebar to this deal is what will the Woodruff Arts Center do with the sale proceeds. Their latest plans call for, among other things, a new less costly Symphony Center on Peachtree Street adjacent to the current Symphony Orchestra site.

Fabulous news. I am also intrigued by the sidebar posted above. I look forward to hearing more about the Woodruff proposal for the award winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Via Curbed, an mixed-use apartment project on Auburn along the streetcar route, including 4,000 sf of retail.

Quote:
Bisnow reports the Integral Group is moving ahead with plans to build a 94-unit apartment project on an empty lot next door. Construction permits filed with the City of Atlanta indicate the $8.9 million development will also include 4,000 square feet of retail, all targeting the college crowd (the Panther invasion continues!) The building isn't strictly meant for students, but with Georgia State University housing next door, that demographic will be a natural tenant base, one official told the website.

Anyone (with a bit of expertise on the subject) able to guess the height of the project? 94 units on that small of a footprint would likely suggest a taller building.

Finally, East Downtown is starting to see development. I was wondering when it would happen. Hopefully, this is the start of the densification of East Downtown going east into Sweet Auburn.

Just for clarification, I posted this on another thread the other day. Should news about proposed projects be posted here, or is this for construction only?

Via Curbed, In Decatur, Dirt Moves On 'Luxury' Rental Community.

Quote:
A little ways off the Decatur Square, Paces Properties is moving dirt on a 176-unit apartment community called "Paces Clairemont." Crews have begun ripping up an asphalt parking lot behind the curved Fidelity office building along Commerce Drive, Decatur Metro reports. Plans call for a five-story luxury apartment building with predominant frontage along Commerce Drive, with many of the ground-floor units having brownstone stoop entrances, which are always a nice touch.
Contains a very vague render....

Georgia State, developers want The Ted for major project

The AJC is reporting that Georgia State University and a prominent Atlanta development team want to acquire Turner Field and the sea of parking lots between it and downtown to create a new southern campus for the college and a mixed-use development that would transform an area threatened by the Braves’ pending departure to Cobb County. The university wants to convert The Ted into a new 30,000-seat football stadium and build other athletic facilities, student housing, classrooms and green space A private team led by real estate development powerhouse Carter and Columbia Residential would build a mixed-use campus of shops, restaurants, retail, hotels and single-family and apartment homes in the surrounding area.
The Georgia State-backed proposal also would represent a profound investment in a stadium district that has failed to draw many businesses since the original Atlanta Stadium was built there in the 1960s.

“We are focused on the future for the best possible use for Atlanta and honoring the history and tradition of (the Braves and Olympics),” Becker said.

The video describes the proximity of GSU's campus to Turner field.

GSU Turner Field Project deets

Carter and Georgia State University on Wednesday teamed on a proposal for a $300 million redevelopment proposal for the property around Turner Field for multiple uses, including football and baseball stadiums, retail, residential and student housing.

Atlanta-based real estate developer Carter and Georgia State University on Wednesday teamed on a proposal for a $300 million redevelopment of the property around Turner Field for multiple uses, including football and baseball stadiums, retail, residential and student housing.

The redevelopment of the 77-acre site would be funded by public and private sources, the organizations said in a statement. Carter’s preliminary proposal would include a 30,000-seat football stadium on the Turner Field site and a Georgia State baseball complex. The baseball stadium would be designed in the former location of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and would incorporate the Hank Aaron wall.Residential and student housing, retail businesses, green space and plazas also would be added to the property.

Here are some renders: #88 Unread Posted Today, 10:03 PM

As usual, you can find a compilation of everything (I've found) so far on the project here: http://devmap.io/developments/gsu-turner-field-re-development

Please contribute anything else you find by clicking "Edit Development". This is a hugely exciting project and it'd be great to have everything available in one place!

It looks like the baseball field is the exact same footprint of old Fulton County Stadium with a special feature of some sort where Henry Aaron hit his 715th.

If true, that is awesome!!!

Hopefully that GSU projects pulls through, looks like an amazing revitalization of some prime real estate. Love the nod to Fulton Co Stadium.
