Yes,
e_r, the original 40-room Hollywood Hotel was built in 1902 at the NW corner of Hollywood and Highland. (See first photo below). It was so successful that a huge addition, which included a new entrance, chapel, ballroom, etc and 125 guest rooms, was constructed running along Hollywood Blvd, stretching west to Orchid Dr (second photo below). It opened in 1905. The whole place, including the gardens, took up three acres. They did a nice job of matching the architecture by repeating the "mission" arches twice more on the addition's facade.
In the wonderful photo you posted one can just see the round turret of the original structure on the right. The old hotel starts immediately to the right of the new entrance porch.
