^ The renderings are drop-dead gorgeous. This project and OCS will help create a Chicago Ave canyon:

The activation of the north branch with this and the goose island area will be awesome. Then to also get everything on the south branch too is amazing! Get some more river taxis going!!

Did the updated Old Town redevelopment for 633 W. North Ave get approved? Or was it deferred to a later date?

Never mind! Just saw Stunnies23's post that it was approved. That's great! Goodbye auto-oriented plaza!

Huh? Are you confusing Chicago with some other city where they actually do city planning? Everything always gets approved at the Plan Commission. No one can remember the last time they didn't approve every single project on the agenda.

Three cheers for the planning commission on doing a great job keeping our city moving and keeping supply high so rents stay lower for longer

There were two TOD projects on the agenda that I assume were deferred.
One at Schiller and Sedgwick, the other at Chicago and Milwaukee.

53rd and Cornell in Hyde Park may be starting soon, Adjustable Forms added it to their website project portfolio. And the below Curbed article from 2017 says its supposed to break ground in early 2018.

Yes, had a question about that.
edit: but based on curbed article, looks like the plan is for the entire Father/Son Plaza site

Was there any indication of what rents would be at the Father & Sons Plaza?

Except for a handful of affordable rate units; they’ll be market rate.

All from Jan 19th

No. 9 Walton

1140 S. Wabash

Northwestern Biomedical Research Center

To be completely honest I was never a huge fan of the old Goldberg building on this site, but this actually makes me miss that building. Hopefully they follow through with the original plans build a second phase that makes this not so soul-crushing.

I just can't help but feel that all the high end materials don't make up for this building's clumsy massing and awkward upper floor design changes.
