I always enjoy seeing Rimouski pics, thanks for sharing Tone. What’s the story with the main road in that picture - no markings and what appears to be an empty middle lane?

Some pics from the past few days in Victoria. Fun time of year where things are really greening up but still some blossoms blooming and to come.

It's a common occurrence on the tail of a harsh winter and several major snowstorms. Rue de la Cathédrale being busy and on an incline, whats left of the markings is buried under aggregate and dirt. Many people stop using the median in the meantime until the street is cleaned and repainted.

Wonderful Victoria series. Every time I go there or see pics of the city I like it more. It's just neat little packed city.

Envision Saint John - thanks for the links, now that I read it out loud, of course I’ve heard of Mount Ararat, funny when I just read the word without pronunciation it didn’t click. But I did click on those links and learned a bunch more, fascinating and sad history for sure. Definitely must feel like a kick in the gut seeing your mountain sitting in another country…

Rico - great pics as always. My favourite(s) are the twisted bike in snow, lol. Looks like a purposeful sculpture. Assuming that was a result of snow plow damage?

SHH, your pics are showing up after not the other day, weird. Always love the colours of St. John’s which you nicely reflect within your own home as well

From grit to glass - nice back to back threads Rico! You've been busy getting photos lately, good work!

Would also be nice to see some fresh shots from across the country, I know Rico and I are semi-regular posters, but I sure miss seeing other cities on a more frequent basis. Especially the Prairie cities, Quebec City, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

I took a few shots yesterday on a nice afternoon. I think it was giallo or perhaps Metro-One who made a comment a few month back - they said Victoria has a clear red/warm colour grade. Now I can't unsee it. And when I see their Vancouver pics the colours are definitely green/blue and cool.

When I first read this I thought you typed "This thread is like a vertical vacation" as in scrolling vertically, lol. I guess it is a VVV - Virtual Vertical Vacation.

Sad to see the old Bowmac sign serving as a support beam for a Toy 'R Us one. There is a sense of excitement (especially when you're young and impressionable) driving into a big city a night and seeing the lights, billboards, neon signs (what remains) welcoming you. The soundtrack playing in the background is Empire State of Mind - "Now you're in New York, these streets will make you feel brand-new (new), big lights will inspire you.."

Finally, love that final picture Rico - what an angle and subject!

Vancouver

The BowMac car dealership sign on Broadway dates from 1958; at 80 ft. it was claimed to be the tallest free standing of its type in North America. The future of the sign is unclear.

Nice colourful Victoria pics ! And wow yeah, Vancouver sure loves its oversized neon signs. Every time I walk down Granville I'm always secretly jealous, I wish Ste-Catherine street brought back it's neon game.

I think so too, the Philips square tower is one of my favourite new 200m towers in the city. I'm not crazy about all-glass towers, but I like this one.

After months of underground utility work (including earthquake proofing) a section of Blanshard street was finally completed this week with the final paving.

But my favourite part is this overhead drone video someone took early this morning - how nice is it to see fresh asphalt and clean line marking, ahh... The second to last block will have treet installed in the centre median this coming week.

Hope you enjoyed this photos. I plan to be in Kelowna for the entire month of July so I will take many more.
