This is a little off-topic but I noticed that new flying vehicles called E-VTOLS (basically human sized drones) will become a thing in the near future, and with LA's heli-pads on most high-rise+ buildings, could make this city the first major host for this kind of transport on a larger scale, as a kind of proving ground. Perhaps more tower constructions in the future will have ledges built in, like oversized balconies for E-VTOL take-off and landing. The closer to the center of the tower the better for convenience, so I imagine ledges coming out of towers near the top-middle.

This is exciting technology and the companies developing Urban Air Mobility vehicles are focusing on Los Angeles as one of the focus cities for this technology. There is tremendous hype with this technology, however. They will have to be certified by FAA, the economics will have to be feasible, there will have to be a sufficient number of qualified pilots, there will need to be an air traffic system to manage these flights.

Yeah Joby has FAA approval, complete integration is still probably 3+ years away but my point is that L.A. is way ahead of other major cities for this technology to get a running start. I assume eventually many towers will get renovations with large terraces poking out, will be interesting how they'll look.

Actually from that angle i'm almost positive that's either DTSA or Costa Mesa.

If it is Costa Mesa that is impressive because it's around an hours drive from there to DTLA with no traffic.

That's definitely Costa Mesa. It's also impressive to see how clear it was that particular days that picture was taken.

Great shot! Definitely, one of my least favorite views of the skyline, as the gaps between the buildings are more defined. That said, it is really starting to fill out, now if there could just be a building boom in Westlake.

Meh. I say continue East from Figueroa! I’d love to see Downtown all built up in the area encompassing the 10, 110, & 101.

as others have posted, LB is south of dtla, not east...but it's so unusual seeing areas that are further inland from dt, that I can understand why you thought those hills were palos verdes & the nearby bldgs were dtlb.

I have not been in DTLA in almost a year because of COVID. Since I got my vaccination, I started to venture out a bit and took my son for a walking tour of DTLA last weekend. We started at Bunker Hill and walked to Old Bank District and Wholesale District, to Little Tokyo and back.

We started at the Bunker Hill steps.

This was the first time I saw this peaking out from Bunker Hill with my own eyes.

Also tried to show my son the inside of Bradbury but it is closed to the public due to COVID.

Angel's Flight is always a crowd pleaser

From that angle I am fairly certain you are looking directly toward the South Coast Metro/Irvine skyline.
