Rode by a sudden giant hole on Sherbrook today. Came out of nowhere. Awesome to see that big development happening. Will really impact the street for the better.

Do you mean the early 80s?

I am hearing there are plans to seriously challenge his ward next year. People in the ward are very unhappy with what he has done.

A snapshot of his record:

- Killing the William Clement extension and with in the much needed inner ring road.

- Approving a ridiculously oversized garage built with a permit that would have never received a permit if following the proper process

- Now approving a development that is not fitting the character of the neighborhood.

The last one isn't as big an issue as the first two but its important as it is enough to motivate people to get organized to try and vote him out.

When did he kill the William Clement extension? I don't recall there being a proposal on the table to extend it since he's been on council.

The garage was a dumb decision but isn't it down on one of the roads south of Wilkes? (Charleswood? Liberty?) I mean that might piss off a half dozen voters, it doesn't impact 99.5% of the ward.

That development near the Charleswood United Church has been trying to go for probably a decade or more now. It's good that it will hopefully be a go now.

Extending William Clement to Wilkes really isn't that high on the priority list. Until Major development happens south of Wilkes, then maybe it'll pick up steam again.

The William Clement extension was Morantz' work, wasn't it?

Apparently another Qualico SFH development starting up next year off the Harte trail between Charleswood road, community road, ridge wood and rannock, speaking of Charleswood. Gross.

Isn't that just a continuation of Ridgewood West? It's going to fill in that whole triangular ish bit of land up to Marj Edey IIRC.

Yes, pretty much all of that is slated for development.

Very loose use of the word ‘highrise’ but good news nonetheless.

I am a fan of Wan. His style is eye catching and has more character than a lot of the slop that comes out of many builds these days.

MPI will be renovating the CityPlace food court and the first two storeys of the buildings facade. The food court reno will be in the $4-$6m range. The facade upgrades which are to "rejuvenate and animate Cityplace's street presence" will be $1-$3m.

Interesting. I wonder if they'll open up some areas to the street. Is the old CIBC place occupied or have plans? Even though I work right next door I don't really go to that area. Would be a prime spot for a restaurant with the Graham Ave changes going on.

Nice! Where did you see that?

Now if only we can get them to do something with their surface parking lot…

That atrium is going to be fucking glorious when its done. Those hallways will also be awesome, such lofty ceilings. I cannot wait to see this place finished.
