Hey everyone, sorry if this isn’t exactly kosher to ask in this forum, but I was wondering if anyone of you could help me with something? I am currently working for a real estate developer doing multi family housing in Salt Lake City and have been for the past year and a half (I graduated in 2017) but am looking to make a big life change by moving to New York City sometime next year. I’m looking to continue my career in real estate development and was wondering if you guys could help me with where to look? I’m trying to make a list of companies to contact myself but if any of you know of a few good firms you think I should look into please let me know. I would really appreciate any help I can get! Make sure you have a sales portfolio proof/track record to back it up and possibly something to back a profit/loss statement. NYC is competitive in that sense, especially top firms. Really if your looking to do sales.
Developer Fetner Properties recently unveiled renderings for a 23-story residential building with micro-units at 266 West 96th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Located between Broadway and West End Avenue, the development would be built on a lot currently occupied by a former MTA electric substation.
According to a proposal Fetner submitted to the city earlier this year, the development would have 171 total apartments with 91 regular-sized units and 80 micro-units, ranging from 290 to 340 square feet apiece. The smaller apartments would be marketed to seniors and 68 units would be permanent affordable housing units. All residents would have free access to amenities including the health club.

Construction Update: 41-05 29th Street, Long Island City, Queens
This is a 24-story condo development with ground floor retail going up in LIC, in the shadow of Queens Plaza Park (AKA "Sven"). The structure is above ground floor now. Curiously, there does not appear to be a crane in use. Here's a pic I snapped recently:

Located between East 152nd Street and East 153rd Street, the through lot is near the 3rd Avenue-149 Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Sally Gilliland of The Hudson Companies Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 124-foot-tall development will yield 157,500 square feet, with 151,000 square feet designated for residential space and 6,500 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 166 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 909 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.

Located at the intersection of East 153rd Street and Brook Avenue, the lot is near the 3rd Avenue-149 Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. BRP Development Corp., listed as the owner behind the applications, is part of a joint partnership to develop five buildings on the Bronxchester Urban Renewal site in the South Bronx.
The proposed 265-foot-tall development will yield 254,900 square feet, with 241,000 square feet designated for residential space, 12,200 square feet for community facility space, and 1,700 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 254 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 948 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.

Permits have been filed for a 16-story residential building at 2080 Boston Road in West Farms, The Bronx. Located at the intersection of East 180th Street and Boston Road, the corner lot is two blocks north of the West Farms Square-East Tremont Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Non-profit developer Phipps Houses and the Boston Tremont Housing Development Fund Corporation are listed as the owners behind the applications.
The proposed 166-foot-tall development will yield 346,517 square feet, with 320,948 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 279 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,150 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
