Good point. So I guess maybe the renderings are right on. It's just that the 57th street facing is the long visible part of the "L" and at street level looks like a lot of mass, but as it rises the thinness of the building will become more evident.
I like a tall, thin building. It harkens back to the classic skyscrapers of the early 20th century, as opposed to the form-follows-function big glass square blocks of the 50s-70s.
