Interesting, there is a perfect empty lot between Manitoba Clinic and the Rehab center that would allow this to get started earlier.
Seems like the location will be on top of the existing entrance to HSC and parking garage below.
Yes, where the main entrance loop is on Sherbrook. It has been in the works since 2014. This will allow for the future demolition of a lot of really old infrastructure in the middle of the HSC campus.

...also, looks like we may finally get the new UofM Nursing Building next to the Apotex Centre on Bannatyne. It will be 7 storeys on a surface parking lot.

^ Isn't nursing still located on Fort Garry campus? As I recall their building is somewhat new by U of M standards, only built in the late 90s after they demolished Bison East Gym. If so, I wonder what the existing facility will be used for.
Makes sense to move nursing to the rest of the health facilities.

This was developed through the Clinical and Preventative Services Plan (CPSP) which the Peachy report called for when Palister was elected. idk about anything from 2000.

^Exactly. In 2016 this same project probably would have been an 800 million expansion... And would have been ready to go in 2023. Now it's gonna cost double and be ready probably at the same time electric vehicles are mandatory.

The movement and decanting of departments will start right away. Construction will be 2 to 3 years away.

Thats more a longer term play will probably take 10 years before we see it starting to generate billions whereas today it's growing but still in infancy due to the neglect of the industry the past few decades
