Great photos as always - Vancouver at street level in all seasons, you really show it all. Beautiful, honest and sincere. I like them all, lol - but this one stood out a bit more than the others:
Tone - always sharing photogenic views of the Big Rim! Although I doubt that nickname will stick.. What’s the story with that mural? Looks like a running track, a river, then some cosmic heavenly action linking a flaming hot runner and a water spout. Or not.

Your analysis is pretty spot on i believe. This new mural is the winning design of a contest for the ''tallest mural east of Quebec City'', although im not sure they have a mural taller than 14 stories there.
My take is that the mural depicts some of our region's natural features like the St Lawrence Estuary and the sunsets, while the running track refers to Rimouski hosting the Quebec summer games this year.
^We need more murals like this to gussy up the sides of concrete commie blocks.
I really hated this building on Crescent Street (Montreal) before it got the mural:

Oh I love that one. For me masonry buildings of that scale actually seem more impressive and substantial than many highrises several times the height.

That building is so cool and homey. I love the terraces, the side entrance, and all the conifers around it.

Nouvellecosse, I completely agree - it’s a little gem of a building that seems to fly under the radar. Perhaps because it’s in a quieter corner of downtown and the trees somewhat hide it. It’s called The Savoy, built in 1975. Sure has stood the test of time, and a shame this quality level isn’t achieved consistently for condos.
Is Montreal the only Canadian city with a signature Ferris wheel? Off the top of my head I think something like that would look good on the river bank in Edmonton, and perhaps Halifax although I’m not sure if there is a right location available there.

One of those would look incredible where the toilet paper factory is in Gatineau directly across from Parliament in Ottawa
Wise saying Gatineau as I purposely avoided mentioning Ottawa as then the comments will be about Parliament being a circus or a carnival. But I guess there is room to put on in front.. Maybe that’s where all media availability would have to take place, sit with the politician while on the Ferris wheel and if you’re not in the same pod you’ll have to yell your questions up/down or across.
